Soul Blade for the PS1 had a kick ass intro, too.

Sure, that intro is awesome. But it can't hope to match the epicness of Mass Effect 2's intro.

Seeing the Normandy being blown to smithereens while you helplessly drift away through space, the only thing you hear is your own breath that rapidly grows more hectic, before finally dying away. And that tune at the end is just chilling...
