Martin O'Donnell did some amazing work with the Halo OST, and the music is part of what makes it stand out as a game series. It's got some really great instrumental scores for an FPS game; you might even go so far as to say the sound team uses emotion as one of their instruments and you won't be entirely wrong in saying so.

Also, does it have to be a television show, game, or movie?
Because the Homestuck OST has some really great pieces.

I've also been listening to the Avatar OST again, that's got some brilliant tracks

I love the Bastion Soundtrack, the glorious work put into the Halo songs, and the Game of Thrones soundtrack is awesome.
The song is better in the context in which it is presented in the series, but it still is fantastic.

the original Ghost in the Shell movie soundtrack

gives me chills

I actually bought the blu-ray of Ghost in the Shell a few weeks back. And when I sat down to watch it I realized to my horror that it had gotten the George Lucas treatment, as seen on the right side of the video. Gone were the cool blues and greens of the original, replaced with a brown coffeefilter colour scheme, and beautifully hand animated scenes replaced by CGI.

Sorry, seeing this video made me think of that horrendous experience all over again.

The Dark Knight Rises. I'm still not sure what my full judgement of the movie is, but the soundtrack is absolutely awesome. Nolan and Zimmer know exactly what each other wants to do in a scene.
