Pretty much anything that has more than a third (3rd) game in their series.
Also anything that ever has a GOLD EDITION, a Directors Cut or multiple releases of the same game but different versions (Like Street Fighter II).

Every franchise with three or more games in it. Originality is best IMO.
That's stupid as some games get BETTER after the 3rd installment! Just saying...
I'd rather have the developers take what they've learned and use it for a new, exciting IP. But, as always that's just my opinion. I get sick of a franchise that they just pump games for, no matter how good they are. I like something fresh.

I just ignore franchises that I don't care about at all or anymore. If game developers wish to continue making the same games, more power to them. I don't necessarily have to like it.

Although, I kinda disagree with the people mentioning games like Call of Duty and Final Fantasy. I'm not a huge FF fan but I do respect the series for trying to do something different with every iteration(okay most of the series). Can't say the same for COD since it's been kinda samey for the last two games. But I believe the series still has a chance for actual innovation if the developers actually tried. If the Battlefield series can do it, so can call of duty. Heck, we might end up with another MW1.

Kingdom Hearts.

A (shitty) fanfiction plot spread across every platform imaginable with gameplay that's so wildly all over the map in terms of quality in order to squeeze out every last drop of money out of people who wanna see Riku fuck Sora. Ditch that shit.

Final Fantasy. Gone on too long, too old, too many bad choices, losing originality and specialness.
Sonic games. Pretty much the same as Final Fantasy.
World of Warcraft. You're supposed to make games, not drugs disguised as games.
Diablo. A few new classes and stats are not enough to keep a 2001 caliber game going in these modern, more-civilized times of ours.
Prince of Persia. You're never going to beat the Sands of Time games.
Mortal Kombat. Unless you update your A.I. from 1994 please leave. I love you but you don't want to make this relationship work. Plus, Shao Kahn, master of time and breaking your face, is just lame as he is right now.

I know everybody is going to say it, well some people anyway, but Call of Duty.

It's not that I hate the game outright but since Modern Warfare 1 it's become almost a parody of itself with ridiculous plot lines and scenarios. It's like Modern Warfare 2 and BLOPS are the Rodger Moore James Bond's to Call of Duty 1/2 and Modern Warfare 1's Connery James Bond films. Personally I don't like the direction it's taking and from the looks of Modern Warfare 3 it's getting even more outlandish.

Still, the multiplayer is fun but it's becoming a little samey now and could do with freshening up.

Every single game that has more than 2 sequels. If the first game is an experiment then a sequel is a way to refine the experience to the max. The promise of a third sequels basically deters the team from polishing the 2nd game as much as possible since they could just shelf ideas until the third game. Forcing a developer to not make more than a sequel to a game means they could put their creativity to good use by building original IP's and mechanics. This way, the market wouldn't stagnate like it's doing now.

Sonic. Seriously, the blue blur is practically on life support at this point. Pull the plug.

Any game thats really popular, including Mass Effect, Halo, and such.

Though one that sticks out in my mind is the Soul Calibur series. Why? Because the story is over. WE've followed the story of Seigfried, and through him the Greek Tragedy. Especially since they're bringing him back for the Fifth game, when they should just cut ties with all the old characters if they want the game to be any good.

... plus the game had to be petitioned by fans to be made, and fans dont know what they're talking about or want.

I kind of hope Halo goes away, I don't really think there are any good stories left to tell and I fear for game quality if it's not Bungie at the helm.

Modern warfare.
Or at least just slow the fucking release time down.

The Mario party games. They were a nice idea at first, but after nine of the things, I think we can move on.
Any of the floodware wii games.

I think most series dont need to stop, they just need a bit of intermission. Being bombared with CoD, Halo, Metroid, mario, is aggravating even to the most die hard of fans.

I actually think Nintendo have Zelda pretty well done release wise (not including the myriad games on the hand-helds, I grant). It's usually one or two per console, but the franchise is made to seem more overly-abundant by the mechanical production of mario and metroid games. I really wish Nintendo would just deviate for fuck sake. We know they're a good game company capable of producing brilliant games, but nobody at all would object to a new franchise at this point. Something fresh to the table!

Same as you, pretty much. Although I'd go further to say that in my (selfish) opinion, it should've ended after the second one. Modern Warfare wasn't all that interesting and CoD 3 wasn't for PC. Also, Final Fantasy, but I don't care about that all that much anymore.
