You are probably going to laugh me right off the forums for my answer.... but in all honesty, I would have to say:

Too Human's sequels...

Yeah, I went there.

Too Human wasn't nearly as bad as everyone says. By no means was it a great game, but there weren't a lot of hack'n'slash games on the 360, and TH was filling a needed niche. Losing the sequels just made the existing game dumber, because there was no resolution to the story. At all.

I also lament the loss of Prey 2. Prey was one of the last shooters I played before everything started mimicking Call of Duty, or even Halo. I remember popping in my Duke Nukem 3D disk, and finding a folder of screen shots for the upcoming game called "Prey." It looked like Quake, but it had been in concept for at least that long.

Prey 2 looked damn sweet. It actually looked like a lot of fun if it was pulled off right. Shame about that.

Rainbow Six: Patriots. Siege is right up my alley, but I did always like Rainbow Six's single player, and looking at the gameplay concept video, it looked pretty interesting playing as both Team Rainbow and the hostage.

My brother was looking forward to End of Nations by Trion worlds. Shame it got turned into what looked like just another MOBA then got put on hold.

Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance (PC) and DA 3: i really liked the original games, and it was the game that got me into Dungeon crawlers. Shame it never got to PC and the developer crumbled before DA3 could be made.

The Last Guardian, anyone? A new game by Team ICO, presumably the story of a boy and his adorable baby giant gryphon. I was so excited for the game, since Shadow of the Colossus is one of my all-time favorites, and I was expecting another masterpiece full of puzzles and emotion and beauty.

Unfortunately, The Last Guardian was announced around the time the PS3 came out, and there hasn't been any news on it for years, except for the director stepping down a year or two ago. It will probably never be released now.

I was hoping that the MMO Wish by Mutable Wrealms was going to make it past Beta. But that was because I was working on it.

For my own personal enjoyment, I was really looking forward to S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2. Such a shame... anything to get me back in the Zone.

The only two that I can think of are: Starcraft Ghost, which just looked liked a supurb and unique stealth game in the Starcraft universe. And 2 Heroes of Might and Magic III The Heavenly Forge, which was a planned expansion that would've completely changed the landscape of Erathia, you know before it blew up, If it had not been canceled then M&M would've become a very different game series.

I loved the first two and spent many a winter night playing through them, the third looked like it was going to be beautiful, but never saw the light of day. Massive shame, made worse by the latest crap to bare the same name

Star Wars:1313
Aliens: Colonial Marines for the PS2 back in early 2001/2002 (not to be confused with the game that we got, but again were also deceived ...)
Lone Soldier for Sega Saturn/PSX
Godzilla:Destroy All Monsters for the SNES (was released in Japan, but not in the states)
Star Wars: Battle Front III from Free Radical (however I'm really psyched about the forthcoming Frostbite engine release)
TimeSplitters 4
The Last Guardian (until it FINALLY,eventually arrives....maybe after the Apocalypse)
Star Wars:The Force Unleashed 3 (never really announced, but the cliff hanger ending of 2 would indicate another game)
Star Wars: KOTOR 3 (Again, not officially announced, but we could "sense" it would be released. I like TOR, but a direct sequel to the original two in the series just seems obvious)
The Grinder for the Wii
Starcraft:Ghost
Prey 2 (at least what had been originally announced and described; we'll just have to wait.)
That's about all I can think of off the top of my head.

I liked the idea of end of nations. I can't think of any other ones because these days games seem to get stuck in perpetual beta rather than get fully cancelled, like firefall or mechwarrior tactics.

Battlefront 3. Yes i know that DICE is supposedly making it but as far as I'm concerned there is no way that whatever they pull out will be as good as Battlefront 2. It's probably going to be another crappy battlefield or COD game skinned to look like star wars and then I'm going to go cry.

Err.. Perhaps I have missed something, but has there been any official confirmation that Prey 2 is indeed cancelled?

I personally have a hard time coming up with games whose cancellation have had me gone sour. But here's two:

Torn - A RPG developed by Black Isle Studios that was supposed to take place in an entirely new setting and utilize the S.P.E.C.I.A.L.-system, previously featured in the first two Fallout games, for character development. Further info can be found here [http://web.archive.org/web/20020321092834/http://gamespot.com/gamespot/features/pc/graveyard_torn/p2_01.html]

Outcast 2 - Was apparently going to head off in a different direction compared to it's predecessor. However, since there was so little information available this only served to spark my interest even further. Given that the Outcast HD Reboot kickstarter backfired, I have severe doubts that this game will ever see the light of day.

Perhaps you guys should keep your eyes peeled for War for the Overworld.

The agency. A spy mmo with stealth, FPS gameplay and a neat silly charm. It likely would have flopped, but I at least wanted to see it tried.
I really was looking forward to that game too! I even pre ordered it, only to get constant emails from GameStop that it was delayed.....indefinitely. Would have been cool at least to have been in beta or something.

Someone mentioned it already, but they are making DK3, it's called "War for the Overworld", but right now it's in VERY early beta stages. You can buy it off Steam, but it's essentially just a tutorial level and one skirmish map with a lot of bugs.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 3. We got a shitty MMO instead.
Star Wars: Battlefront 3. We got a couple of shitty hack and slash games instead.
Legacy of Kain: The Dark Prophecy. We got a good multiplayer action game that's still no substitute for a true LoK game.
RAGE 2. I liked the first game and would like to see the second one right the wrongs of the first.
The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf. I would love to play The Witcher enhanced for PS3.

Last I heard about it was that it was in limbo in 2012. I think we have a better chance of seeing The Last Guardian than Prey 2.

There was this game called "The City of Metronome". It got a lot of attention back in 2005, but then nothing was ever heard of it again. The studio, Tarsier, said they never found a publisher for the game and had to put it on the shelf.

So far, it has not received any official cancellation, but it seems highly unlikely we'll ever see it.

It was basically a stealth/adventure game largely focusing on sound as a weapon and puzzle-solving device, all set in a sprawling, creepy noir city with all sorts of weird creatures. It looked pretty sweet, as some footage of the game has appeared on the internet in later years:

From what I understood at he time, it was nearly done or actually done when the plug was pulled.
Always warms my heart to know I'm not the only person who'd been looking forward to this one. I remember it sounded like they'd had some great ideas for multiplayer - tracking by scent is the only thing which I remember clearly now, but shapechanging on the fly had a lot of potential as well.

I remember digging up some game footage on Youtube at some point.. 'nearly done' seems like a bit of a stretch, even allowing for older graphics. Still, there was meat on those bones.

I'd second Starcraft : Ghost, too.

Please give an example yourself when you make a topic. It's so dull to see threads where the OP puts no effort whatsoever to it.

OT: A sequel to The Saboteur. I really fucking loved that game and had tons of fun exploring the map, blowing shit up and collecting contraband. The end, as I recall it, hinted strongly towards a sequel, but the company killed by EA before that could happen...
Not exactly on topic as there wasn't a sequel officially in the works. Best I got though... I guess I looked forward to The Last Guardian, or whatever it's called, but I believe it's in development again?
