Add in that it feels like so much of it looks the same and the game just feels like an empty world in the worst way(difference between tribal man and nature taking back over I think they were going for and what it ends up being). Like I don't think you ever run into a hunting party or outpost that is in any way handling themselves outside of specific cities. The bots are sorta neat to watch though.
You go from forrests to desert canyons to deep, dense jungles. This gameworld has more variety in its environment than most open-world games.
As for those hunting parties... There have been plenty of times where I was fighting something huge only to have a couple of patrol men wander by and join the fight. The first time I came across a Stormbird it was in the middle of fighting a bunch of dudes. And sometimes when fighting corrupted machines you'll have other non-corrupted machines join
that fight.
And I'm afraid you just missed the exact point I specifically talked about. Has nothing to do with the scenery changing, a largely empty forest and a largely empty desert comes out to about the same difference. Scenary chaning doesn't mean anything if the gameworld feels empty. People threw holy shit fits about DS2's level design in it having a "here's the Lava Castle level because it's a videogame" thing going on about it.
And again, I just listened to about 15 of the 50 hours Strippin put in. I'm not going to claim the game is a failure, just that it's got frustrating elements in it that for someone like me makes it a "not worth buying" game. Especially if it's going to be a PS4 exclusive.
Yes, I know that triple shot is later on, just as I know about the freeze stuff, it's simply that it's not an interesting open world game to me. Much like most others. Stealth is required to survive, but the system is not the least bit explored(you have tall grass you run into, and rocks and whistles to grab the moron's attention so you can kill them and wait for the inevitable "must've been the wind" until they find a body and everyone very quickly knows where you are if you aren't in said tall grass) and the combat can be summed up with you shooting shit with a bow, spamming the craft arrow button in the middle of the fight because you can't aim worth a shit because it's a controller and they actually made hitboxes that fit the graphics for once, and you flail around with your sword pretending to be a spear with a few stealth stabs every once in a while.
