Two games:

1st, An Assassin RPG set in modern times. Your skills would be things like disguise, sniping, interrogating, etc. Also you'd have to actually be creative in planning your kills. Think Hitman, but open world, with skills and not so many scripted "accidents."

2nd, A survival adventure game where the city you're in gets invaded and the whole thing turns into a war zone. Your goal is to escape the city. The challenge would be that you're just a normal guy/gal so you can't take armed platoons on by yourself, injuries are realistic and permanent, etc. There would be other survivors you could have join you and each would have different skills (i.e. A doctor/nurse/etc. could treat injuries, a cab driver might know different routes out of the city, etc, but each person you add increases the difficulty in hiding from soldiers so you have to balance group size with utility and sometimes you just have to leave some survivors behind.

That's all I got.

My friend and I have been coming up with ideas for this game since early high school.

Basically, it's an RPG. Based on our comic series and characters.

[Details removed due to paranoia]

Go on TVTropes and look up any video game related trope. We will use, subvert, invert, parody and/or lampshade at least 72% of them.

We plan to include as many side quests and minigames as the average gamer's attention span will allow them to not be bored by.

I've got over 10 pages of notes, ideas and diagrams for this thing typed up so far. Mark my words,

WE WILL MAKE THIS GAME SOME DAY, AND IT WILL BE THE RPG EQUIVALENT OF PSYCHONAUTS.

If I told you I'd have to kill you. Honestly? I have quite a few ideas for games in the works but I am very serious about keeping them hidden from anyone outside my inner circle. Needless to say, I think they're good enough to warrant actual secrecy (mostly because they are very fleshed out).

Ideas for a more emersive MMO have come to my mind. Something where the story is weaved in better, and a more interesting emersion factor. Iunno. Eaither that, a REALLY open RPG world, or a Stealth game.

I would make a game set in WWII (original, I know), but instead of it being the normal FPS rubbish, I would have it set in a POW camp and the whole thing would revolve around you trying (and possibly failing) to escape. Of course you would have no weapons of any kind, perhaps a hammer or something that you find in one of the early missions (but could only use as a last resort because the guards would shoot you on sight). There would be a level where you make contact with the allies through a German Radio and they tell you to steal documents, record conversations etc... to help the Allies pinpoint the German Forces and eventually come and free you.
Will you die during the Allied attack on the POW camp where the Nazis and Allies just shoot anything that moves through the smoke of the many explosions? Who knows, haven't thought that far ahead ;)

It's been a topic of conversation between me and my dad, who only says games are about killing people. Yes, I've shown him Portal, but to be fair, it's an exception.

Such a classic (and in-fact one of the first stealth games I ever played). Plus it's impossible to complain about because it's a third person game with a protagonist wearing a jacket with a sexy lady on the back, do the math.

a cold war game from the perspective of the Russians

a game involving a hidden city built in 1858 under the surface of the world that was under government control and broke off just before WWII, now you, a British SAS officer whos squad was killed by a rogue operative from this city must enter Paradise (name of city) to solve the mystery of who wants the world destroyed with the help of the eccentric Albert Einstien, the enigmatic Winston Churchill, the morally questionable robert menzies, the proud Joseph Stalin, he patriotic President rooosevelt, and the secretive German army reserve. basically a Survival horror game with some combat/rpg elements set near the end of WWII

VErgil: a game about Vergil, a General of the Biorin Army Black Ops and his slow decent into madness and Vostrok of the Dierski Nation, the man he hunts to the ends of the earth. play from both characters perspective and choose who you root for (hint: it's Vostrok). a stealth/ambush/trap based FPS

I'd make a trilogy, about a perpetually drunk man, in a 3rd person format similar to Grand Theft Auto or Red Dead Redemption. The Drunk Man, for unexplained reasons, gains super powers when he drinks alcohol of any kind.
So, Drunk Man: Last Orders, where the Drunk Man has run out of beer at home. Wrecking his car within moments of getting in, he has to get to his favourite pub on the other side of town before it closes for the night along the way hooking up with a myriad band of fellow pub-hunters
Drunk Man 2: The Hangover, in which the Drunk Man, having completed his quest to the pub in the previous game, has to return home once again, along with his fellow adventurers, having bizzare adventures along the way
Drunk Man 3: Revenge of the Landlord, the final instalment, in which the publican of Drunk Man's favourite free house unexpectedly has a heart attack in the pub, the Drunk Man and friends being so drunk they didn't try to save him. So, he is resurrected by an individual with a grudge against Drunk Man, abd given Alco-Powers comparable to the drunk man. So basically, Drunk Man's friends are kidnapped by the Landlord, and he has to save them, because only they have the money with which he can pay his tab.

So, yeah, drink beer, gain power-ups, beat up anyone who stands in your way between you and alcohol.
Write this down.

You'll make a shitton of money off of it someday.

I did have a somewhat under-developed idea for a Multiplayer-only shooter set in the future about a war between Conservatives and Liberals. It would be kind of humorous and the game modes would be centered around election events. Its also set in a future where every Conservative and every Liberal party have merged together into mega-parties. I actually had all the ideas so far typed in a word document on another computer that currently isn't working.
Heres some stuff I can remember
There is a map for every state (realistically this would get pretty hectic as there'd be 50 maps and you'd have to play a lot to memorize the geography of each one and such, it'd be pretty ambitious)
Each faction has four unique items a main weapon a sidearm and a healing item.
These are based on stereotypes to the Conservatives have a double-barrled shot gun and a comically oversized revolver, the Liberals have a comically tiny pistol and a compost-powered plasma rifle (which uses compost as ammo and it constantly surround by flies)

Anyway here would be the main modes.
Campaign: The first mode is simple the teams kill each other to get money so they can put up posters set up campaign HGs and distribute pamphlets. All while trying to sabotage the other team's stuff at the end the team with the most intact campaign items wins.
Rally: A fortress defense mode one team's candidate is holding a rally the other teams is trying to sabotage it, money buys the defenders auto-turrets and the attackers attack vehicles
Debate: In the center of the map the two team's candidates are debating each team has an Evidence Pile and they must continue bringing evidence to their candidate and try to get more evidence to theirs then the other team. Rarely a flame thrower spawns which lets you set fire to and destroy the other teams Evidence Pile which is an automatic win.
Election: This one would get a lot of controversy as the main objective it to target civillians the Consevative Team has to stop Liberal civilians from getting to the polling place and voting and vice verse. The catch is the more support from previous matches the team has in that state the better armed the NPC civilians for them are.
Watchdog: This one is after the election basically the team that lost tries to assassinate the president.
Theres more but this post is already TL;DR as it is now go ahead and quote with
Sounds just like *insert already existing game here*

i would make a superhero game, would be a free roam. the focus would be on superhero design,at the start they wake up in hospital andyou choose thier backstory to determine thier powers. for instance if you said he was involved in a lightning incident you would then say how it happened like whether he was struck by lightning or whether it was an exploded generator or something, if it was natural then your powers would be stronger but less accurate and more chaotic and you would need to charge manually but if it was artificial then you would like need some sort of battery recharge system and the powers would be more accurate, this could work with most powers and stuff, obviously it would be hard to fix in the more obscure ones like famous heroes such as wolverine but i think it would be cool...

well it sounds good in my head...

I personally would like to do a story based horror type game like Amnesia, but perhaps with an open world aspect to it.

Also, icame's open world stealth RPG seems quite interesting.

EDIT: the idea of a prison escape simulator sounds pretty damn fun too.

THIS.

That is all.

(Actually, I have a LOT more ideas for this, but realizing that this would only ever be a pipe-dream a best unless I had a ridiculous amount of income caused me to say "screw it" and stop updating.)

Aww... I'm flattered. I thought it was one of my worse ideas.

i would wanna make a kind of modern assassins creed, like a normal person, who kills people, sorta like a Jack the Ripper, running from police using parkour and free-running, a strong emphasis on evasion rather than combat, murdering people during the night, working normally during the day, have an element where you have to conceal your murderous identity in average day-to-day life, while the police close in on you and watch as the characters life crumbles around them.

OR

A game in which the character is a professional mercenary who has been dropped in way over his head, no communications, aside from the odd radio, and have it as a survival/stealth/guerilla warfare styled game, having to find places to sleep, food, ammunition, all the while evading the armed patrols around the country by blending in, there would be some shooter elements, as well as faction status and a set weight, sort of like Fallout NV on hardcore mode. and the main goal would be a choice, either gathering up a resistance or militia and trying to overthrow the government, or contacting the PMC you work for and getting out of the country.

Hm...
A new DooM game that combines the editable-ness of the first two with the graphics capabilities of the third.
And proper multiplayer support.

me personally, i would make a hybrid game of star fox/kingdom hearts/fable

the ship fighting would be a super polished and a bit harder (tactical viewing, kind of like battlefront II view), and you could literally travel from world to world in real time or warp speed via your ship (or fighter ship) and your fighter ship and ship could get mass amounts of upgrades depending on your style of play (now of course there is also mini side missions and whatnot on your ship itself, what with crew and kitchen and the rankings and such) and the main combat on land would be a somewhat combination of kingdom hearts and fable, in which melee and guns would be there, and of course a mix of magic, but nothing too fancy, as you have your two teammates with you who can also deal some damage based off of how you assign their characteristics and whatnot. On the planets and whatnot it would be alot like fable but also a mix of some kingdom hearts, where you could jump on buildings and find secret alleyways to mob like hideouts and secret loots for stuff, but the towns would all interact in real time and you could essentially do most of what you do in the fable series in these towns, and obviously in certain areas depending on what you do would trigger cutscenes and the main plots of those planets would play out.

the plot itself..well that one im still working out a bit..need to hire me a bioware writer for that part.

A game where you ride around on a rocket powered skateboard doing tricks while you fight dinosaurs with fucking lasers on their heads and kick their Cretaceous asses with your epically bad ass aerial kung fu moves.

Also, you wield flaming nunchucks.

I have an extremely difficult idea, but I am absolutly certain the Wii cannot run it. Maybe if Nintendo makes a better console in terms of graphics, it might get off the ground, but then again the concept is something that would also have to go with Nintendo. Also, Id better damn well know how to present it, other wise, its either:
A. The next "Shadow the Hedgehog" style F-up
B. The next Metroid prime style master piece

Im currently writing its script (for plot and dialogue) and I gotta say, it could be accomplished, but I'd need the presentation to be good as well as the execution.

For safety reasons I cannot go any further, I take great pride in this script and I don't want a copier.

A remake of X-Com 1 (UFO: Enemy Unknown) but without the technical limitations of a 1994 DOS game in a Real time / Turn base hybrid format.
All the randomly generated maps, soldiers, missions, and enemies. More research, manufacturing, weapons, aliens, bigger scale battles, cover mechanics, etc. Basically take the entire tactical strategy genera, take the bits that work, and refine it down to an enjoyable natural (no artificial set piece encounters besides the final battle) game experience.
In summary "A remake of X-Com 1 (UFO: Enemy Unknown) but without the technical limitations of a 1994 DOS game in a Real time / Turn base hybrid format."

Games like X-Com were great because they didn't hold your hand and make you experience an encounter in a linear and restricted manner. Honestly there is too much of the "Hollywood effect" in modern video games. Let the gameplay stand up by itself.
