The older C&C games (C&C1, Red Alert 1, Tiberian Sun) are free to download and would easily run. The newer ones Red Alert 2 and Generals would work too (although Generals would probably need to have its graphics turned down.
Let me do some research and see what I can find but tbh retro games and indie games will probably be your main port of calls.

How are you running Windows 7 on 1GB ram?! O.O

OT: Retro and indie are your best bets.

Oblivion... well I don't know why It wont run fabulously on my laptop (I am modding the game maybe that's why).
Turn off HDR lighting. That's a real performance hog. Try bloom instead.

Also try lowering resolution and reducing draw distances a little. Get rid of visual enhancement mods, though try mods like Low Poly Grass.

Thank you for the help guys! But to bury the hatchet down I am not quite interested at Indie games atm, there are only a select few that I want to try but I don't have the steam cash for it. I only buy games from discount stores that I can find near my area.

Torchlight 2 can run on this system? really?

Dunno. The original was supposedly running on netbooks. I tried that, but it wasn't that good. Running on a semi-decent laptop was mostly very smooth, but once I got to the final boss on very hard difficulty, there were about a million critters running after me and my framerate dropped quite a bit. I still managed to win though.

By semi-decent I mean Geforce 330M, Intel I5 @ 2.4GHz, 6GB RAM.

Maybe they got complaints about making the final boss a system killer and kept the system requirements reasonable throughout the whole game, but I haven't really played it much. It's on my Steam backlog.

It looks like Bioshock 1 should work on your computer.
No.

No. No. No. That game is just... Yeah, too recent. Not on his computer. I, too, once made the mistake of underestimating that games hardware requirements. It didn't go over well for me.

OP: Looks like everyone already put in some very decent suggestions. You can also try an N64 emulator with a wired Xbox 360 controller if you got one. That can make for some fun times. If you need any help with setting it up or getting what you need, just shoot me a PM. I'll be glad to help.

Well there goes my dream of playing a Bioshock game, but since I like to live dangerously sometimes, I will still charge on and try it on my laptop. haha

Is it bad for me to say I don't quite get the feel for the N64? I just don't know why. I much prefer the OG Playstation than any first-gen 3D consoles

You have low RAM - the page file doesn't count because the hard drive doesn't work nearly as fast as RAM, as well as an Intel graphics card with low VRAM. Anything that uses Direct3D 9+ probably won't run. I suggest not trying too much because you can easily get it to overheat and damage some of its components. You can of course run most recent 2D games.

I don't know what that guys computer was but Bioshock 1 minimum system requirements are
Windows xp or vista
Pentium 4 2.4ghz
1gb ram
128mb 6600

One problem you might have is the intel graphics might not be compatible. It comes down to like 5$ on the steam sales so you may as well try it.
I once ran Fear 1 on my Pentium 3 733mhz computer, that game said it needed a 1.8ghz Pentium 4. I ran it at 'low' settings overall and it ran fine. There was even 'minimum' setting below that which I didn't need. So there's a chance! :)

What's the model of your laptop? Any chance I can convince you to buy a new one? lol

What were your specs when trying to run it? Probably be a good reference.

Pretty much my problem is the RAM. Gosh, I don't have money for it. I don't think I can earn that much being a student that's country is being expensive on computer stuff. I'm not looking into making my laptop a over-the-top rig with 12 gazillion cpus and Gabillzillion of RAM. I just like it the way it is 1gb ram more. And I think even without that plus ram there are games, fun, great pc games that will run with this laptop smoothly even if it demands to be on low settings haha
Ram can be extremely cheap these days. Just saving up for a little bit for a 25$ stick on newegg would be plenty enough to help you out. Given your age and such, it might be tougher than I, cause I had a job then, but ram is cheap. Could maybe even pry the ram out of some dead laptops or computers that are about to be trashed. Look into it!

It will only end in tears.

*shrugs* Super Smash Bros., Super Mario 64, Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time (obviously), and Banjo Kazooie/Tooie are pretty awesome N64 titles to check out that aren't outdated really yet.

AMD Athlon Dual-Core ~2.0 GHz
2.8 GB of RAM
ATI Radeon 3100 Graphics
Windows Vista Home Premium

(BTW, Vista now runs pretty much the same as 7 now so it's not a big deal anymore.)

SNES emulation and older might work! The SNES has an absolutely fantastic library of platformers and RPGs. If you have bluetooth or a bluetooth dongle, you can even play them with a wiimote with glovepie![footnote]https://sites.google.com/site/carlkenner/glovepie[/footnote] Good choices are all of the Marios, especially all-stars, Chrono Trigger, Yoshi's Island, Another World, and many, many more.
