What Games Would You Consider A "Cult Classic"?

I dunno, I don't consider many of these games listed in line with "cult classics". Just because it was a lesser recognized game that received great reviews doesn't make it a cult classic. Okami and No More Heroes aren't cult classics IMO.

I would consider a cult classic something like Dwarf Fortress [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dwarf_Fortress]. A free indie game that actually has a cult of dedicated gamers (lots of gamers over at Something Awful and 4chan) that continue to play it all the time.

I recently saw The Rocky Horror Picture Show and wondered "what video games would you consider a cult classic?"

my moneys on Postal 1 & 2, The Battlecruiser series, Nethack and Shenmue

What do you think?
Portal 2 isn't out yet, so we can't call it a cult classic, it has a cult following but since its not out its not a cult classic.

With regards to cult classics, I guess Deus Ex is one, its the one game that isn't flamed by /v/irgins or /b/tards.

Killer7 and Shadow of Collosus must be cult classics, when I bought them I was commended by randoms in the shop and the shop staff regarding my purchase, and no one tried to spoil the plot for me.
He wrote Postal not Portal. You know Postal, that awful movie by Uwe Boll? Yeah that Postal. Not that great game by Valve. I was almost sure that somebody would mix that up.

LOL, sorry, I read it too quick!.

I played postal 1, it was rather enjoyable, it was very well executed.

regarding Uwe boll, have you seen that boxing match he done with his critics?, 5 of his biggest critics he offered to a boxing match for charity, Lowtax from SA got his shit fucked up. He was heard screaming, "he assured me it wasn't meant to be a real boxing match!"

In the US, I'd say the MegaTen games. They're supposed to be really popular in Japan but you barely hear about them Stateside.

I think they are not even so popular there. They have to fight against two big names there. Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy.

Hmm......I'd really have to say Aidyn Chronicles because it is a wonderful RPG that not a lot of people know about. It was for the N64, and it had fun combat and a good story.....if I remember correctly because I haven't played it in about 10 years.
This. I LOVED that game.

The Shadow Hearts series, God Hand, possibly Koei's '...Warriors' games and Bladestorm. Maybe Mount and Blade.

Oh yeah, and definitely Moonstone: A Hard Day's Knight.
