What games would you upgrade?

So I just finished Fire Emblem Awakening, having gotten it few weeks ago on holiday and playing it on/off since, and as I sat there watching the credits I was struck with a few thoughts.[footnote]Among them were "where's everyone's goddamn feet?", "How come there's three pseudo-pedo romance options but not a single LGBT one?" and "PLEASE put Chrom and Lucina in the next Smash Bros!".[/footnote] One that really stuck with me is "Hey, this'd be great on consoles!". Because of the way the gameplay's set up, one could swap out the 3DS for the Wii U's TV-tablet setup without much difficulty. Plus it'd mean a better wireless connection, improved graphics, and that awesome soundtrack being blasted through good speakers instead of that compressed, tinny version that the hand-held version offers. Resident Evil Revelations upgraded from handheld to consoles, and it was received quite well. Then I thought "Why just Fire Emblem and Resi?" There are a whole host of older and smaller games that would be brilliant if upgraded to modern PC and consoles. It already happens the other way around, like we saw with Donkey Kong Country Returns being ported to 3DS, so why not start upgrading? I'd kill for a console version of Dissidia 012 or Persona 4 Golden.

TL:DR: What old, small or handheld titles do would benefit from an upgrade onto the larger world of gaming ala Resident Evil Revelations, and what (if anything) would you change in the transition?

I'd kill for some sort of Persona 3: Golden! With improved graphics, gameplay of Persona 4: Golden, addition of cutscenes for female protagonist and allowing male protagonist to bond with the rest of SEES. That would be so sweet.

first I'd like to say that yes Lucina should replace Marth and Chrom should replace Ike in the new Super Smash Bros
also I agree with you and was quite surprised the despite having incest (Owain and Lucina) and a lot of pedo relationships (Riken and anybody) not a single LGBT, hell at least I thought femMC and Tharja for sure would be able to get married and ADOPT children but that never happened and I was oddly dumbfounded :(

now, back on topic. There's not many games that I think would benefit from a console upgrade but I'd sure love to replay Phantom of the Hourglass amd Spirit Tracks on the WiiU same would be for Castlevania games for the DS, sprecially Order of Ecclessia :)

Well I haven't played Pokemon in years but a friend and I always used to wonder why on earth they didn't stick one on a main console and give it multiplayer. Not a spin-off game, but basically the "normal" game but bigger that you can play with friends.

I never got that either. They made Tharja obsessed with your character regardless of sex but don't allow a relationship. It seemed very odd. I see a lot of people give the reason "The relationships are so you can have the kids as units" etc. but that isn't that compelling argument considering that is entirely optional. After all if you do not pair the characters up you still won't get them anyway.

The most logical response I have seen is that it is Nintendo and they are quite "traditionalist" and a "family" company, so they wouldn't really try and appeal to people who would be interested in characters having LGBT options.

I should also point out that Lucina and Owain is not incest as they are cousins. That is not considered incest and is actually legal in the vast majority of countries, and is even quite common in Japan. The stigma based around it is entirely social not scientific.

dude... no, I don't care if it's legal or not as far as I'm concerned you don't date blood relatives, much less one that you probably grew up with. If you're fine with it... enjoy your moonshine :p but me personally I find it wrong and unnatural, Still to each their own as long as they don't harm anybody

that could've been explained by having the same sex parents adopt. I mean the kids didn't really look anything like their parents outside of Lucina and Morgan, and I'm half convinced that's only because of their clothes

A console compilation of the three DS Castlevanias, all of which I enjoyed quite a lot, with Symphony of the Night-level sound quality if not better. I realise Harmony of Despair did something like that, but I never really felt Castlevania needed to be an online experience, so I declined.

Jumping further onto the wayback machine, some of the first Game Boy games I really enjoyed were the Final Fantasy Legend series, which I later learned were originally from the Japan-exclusive Romancing SaGa series and given the Final Fantasy name to increase sales, just like the first Secret of Mana was called Final Fantasy Adventure. That explained the different sort of mechanics such as the LP system (no revive items needed, but you can only revive a certain number of times before it becomes permanent or you rest) and dividing party members between humans, mutants, robots and monsters, and in the third game allowing any character to switch between those forms. This was later codified in SaGa Frontier on the PS1, which I also enjoyed for its nonlinearity, despite all of these being far harsher than any FF game with even normal encounters quite capable of destroying you if you weren't paying attention. On the bright side, leveling was very rewarding and fast, parties usually gaining 3 or 4 levels on average from a single tough encounter, over 10 from bosses.

TL;DR: What I mean to say is, I'd like to see another SaGa game done in the style of Frontier or FFL3. At least four main characters, one each with their own path, abilities, stories, and goals. Perhaps one from each class branch (Frontier had 4 humans, 1 robot, 1 monster, and 1 mutant/mystic to choose from with the true ending unlocked by completing them all)?
