I can see a TF2 RTS working with a few additions, (who wouldn't like to see a cartoony TF2-style tank running over Scouts?)

I'd like to see Fallout made by 5th Cell (Drawn to Life, Lock's Quest, Scribblenauts) it'd be fun to build fortresses out of refuse, have armies of reprogrammed robots, set traps etc.

Also a sandbox Bioshock

A God of War RTS. One player controls the Gods, the other controls the Titans.

A sandbox game with economy elements that you could affect, with elements combining Romance of The Three Kingdoms (strategy), God of War/Devil May Cry (action, action, action), the Legacy of Kain series (shifting between realms), and Folklore (battle system, magic castic, etc).

I would like a WH40K FPS only with a space marine as the main character, probably leading off from the DOW universe so as to not step on any particular chapter fanboys toes. Maybe have a multiplayer deathmatch/capture the relic/destroy the objective part in the game where you can play as the other races and have a clusterfuck. I think it has potential XD

Maybe i'm just a bit sour because Fire Warrior sucked XD

P.S I can't wait for the Space Marine Action-RPG.

If Mario's going to have guns it has to be a TPS. Gears of War with Koopa Troopas? They already have the armour.
they would barely need to change the locust sprites. just give marcus a dodgy italian accent and a moustache.

scratch-a one grub-a

L4D rpg, or maybe a strategy game. An end of the world zombie apocalypse, trying to gather resources, stay alive, manage alliances with other survivors. Maybe some sort of "clean" town that needs defending and managing. It would be awesome.

Id quite like to see Dawn of war as a turnbased strategy game. I love turn based games, as long as the AI is up to scratch. There are not too many of them at the moment. Not fashionable.
Thakn you, finally...
This is the only decent idea AT ALL that's been posted on this topic. You sir are a legend.

Seconding the CoD MMO idea, with the following conditions:

1. Set in WWII, with more options than just U.S. / Germany / Japan / Britain. I'd like to see Romanians fighting the Dutch.
2. Combat is FPS style, rather than time-based attacks that result in a grind-fest to get stupid quest items.
3. Regardless of story arc, any country can conquer the world (which resets periodically).
4. Conquered countries' towns are littered with propaganda of the owning faction.

And to contribute one of my own:
GTA-style mob game, with ninjas. There really just aren't any good ninja games around that aren't "sneak, sneak, kill, repeat" or "ninja magic fire, poof." Use the movement style from Prototype to navigate, and pick up missions from random people who have enough money. No magic powers would also mean the potential for a morality system that actually works (see Yahtzee's rant about inFamous / KotoR). People react to you differently, but you don't become insanely powerful by being insanely good / evil.

How about doing a game that plays like Dawn of War II but is Stargate?
You know O'Neill would be the force commander, Teal'c is Ativius, Carter... Uh someone, and Daniel would be like Cyrus.

So what do you think? *nudge, nudge*

Without sounding too boring I think a decent idea would be an mmorpg set in the Legacy of Kain world

Kingdom Under Fire gave me all the genre cross over i need. The Crusaders and Heroes were two of the best games i've ever played, even if they were almost impossible with the harder characters. Circle of Doom ruined the series, but since there's a new one coming out that's going back to the normal style, i'm going to ignore that abomination.

Gotta necro the thread, but I can't believe no one's mentioned this yet...

Highlander RPG, or MMORPG. It's too perfect, the movies/series are already like watching an RPG unfold (quickenings = experience and/or level-ups). Plus, immortals are as varied as everyday people, so character creation and customization would be a blast. Write your own backstory, decide what handy skills your avatar picked up in his eons of existence.

I realize the focus is on genre crossovers of existing games, but i've been holding this one in for a while. ;)

...

That's what turns me off most MMORPG's: banal combat. Clicking on someone 'til they go "owie" and falls downs.
THIS... i think. Haven't played GoW, but it's a hack'nslasher right?

Or a MMORPG with fighter style combat (tekken, SF, soul calibour)
Ofc you would have to do something if you wanted to fight several enemies at once, so no "semi 2d" but get 3d movement and a simple lock mechanic.

But the "skill requiering button mashing", or whatever you'll call it would be greatly appreciated.
And it fits well togeather, just think about how long the list of attacks for each character is in tekken (only one i've played, save for SF 10-ish years ago) you could start of with a few attacks, learn more, some atatcks are "expansions" of other attacks. this would be like skills.
Weapons, stats and stuff like that could easily alter lots of stuff, like damage, attack speed, attack "cooldown" (the time between your hit and the next time you can do something)range, HP's damage reduction etc.

Action-MMO-RPG 4TW!

When you think about it almost every FPS can/has been turned into an RTS.
Or a mix of both, like the empires mod of HL2. Still waiting for an official one though...
