What have you been called weird for?

I get called weird all the time and the main reason is simply that I find the group system that seemingly every other human being on the planet is involved in, irrelevent. By this I mean, that just about everyone considers themselves a certain 'type,' be it nerd, goth, chav, whatever your label. And I never have, not in my whole life. Because even at 4 years old I was capable of seeing through it all to just how pathetic the entire thing was.

Now I'm (officially) an adult and for years I thought it would change but it doesn't, the groups are still there. The caveman tribal mentality still exists everywhere you look. It's ridiculous, it never ends.

And because I don't go join a clan (wear the uniform, listen to the music, etc) I am labeled 'weird.'

Same story my whole life, so now I don't bother with people and just read, play games and look after my cat.

I am weird, like to the "normal people" super weird. And I love it! Well I mean, I don't really like being looked at as weird, but I have way more fun than they do.

Even though I'm 18 I make a habit out of jumping around corners to scare my cats, hell I even sing at and about my cats. And no I'm not a crazy cat person, I just think cats are awesome, and if you knew my cats I'd wager you thought so too. I have a habit of sitting in really odd ways, most of which look super uncomfortable, but I usually find them to be very comfy. When people talk about apocalypse scenarios I tend to shout about how "As soon as things get bad fallout rules apply!" which in most places gets you very odd looks. Oh and for my finish, last week we went to collect pumpkins from a patch out of town, and after we had been there for a while I decided I was bored and indulged in a little "zombie(ing?)" and just kind of walked about the patch doing my best slow zombie impression.

I love all of these things, and while I am looked at as a bit weird, my parents, girlfriend, and such don't mind. Though I think it's because they know that I am smarter than the average bear and am just having a little fun.

When I see people like you, I have to admit, I'm blinded by ignorance. The only requirement to be a furry is enjoying the art style, you can find the porn revolting or anything of the sort, that's like saying I despise any one who likes anime in the least, just because of the Hentai and Loli. There was a statistic, something like 40% of people meet that requirement.

On topic, let's see...well...I wear combat boots, a patrol cap, and a leather jacket to school pretty often. I have a tendency to get into fights. People used to spread rumors about me until I beat them all up. People hate me because I dumpster dive, I play video games, I am cultured, and I value my intelligence (these things do not go over well with the kids at school). They hate me because I like metal, grunge, classic rock, blues, jazz, country, and old school rap (appearantly you aren't allowed to have diverse tastes). I'm also, litterally, the only person in my entire school who plans to go into the military. I go to a school that is infested with preps, hipsters, fashionistas, and subaru hippies, so they tend to look down on people like me.

I get odd looks and called weird regularly because I practice with my devil sticks when I'm on my lunch break. Its how I relax and turn off!
