Dr. Rhonda Patrick talking for 3 hours about everything she finds most important from sedantarism, Norwegian 4x4 workout, saunas, vitamin d, magnesium, micro-plastics, ketosis, creatine, etc. She really knows her shit and is one of the best nutritional/health communicators out there.

Today I learned that the theme from The Neverending Story was sung by Limhal... a man. A fucking MAN. Testicles and everything.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
Today I learned that passing a kidney stone - even a small one - sucks a whole fucking lot.
Apparently people who are into sounding don't have issues with them.

Did you know “Clint Eastwood” is an anagram of “Old West Action”?

Now I do, and damn that’s pretty spot on.

Huh, today I learned you can exit through the fog gate during your first encounter with Seath The Scaleless. Doesn't change anything; you still must suffer the scripted death to get into the prison, but I never knew leaving was an option for those who might need to retreat and equip a Ring of Sacrifice. Not that anyone would think to even try that given no other bosses' fog gate in all of Souls-dom allows this (to my knowledge.)

only just realised the cardigans and the carpenters aren't the same band - kinda similar realisation with the films emergency and ambulance, but come on, those two are at least intimately related lol

On the Greek Island of Santorini there are Frescos with Blue Monkeys on them from the Bronze age, about 3600 years ago. Monkeys are not Native to Greece and apparently these particular monkeys are from India, so apparently during the Bronze Age there were trade networks that allowed someone on Santorini to get ahold of some Indian Monkeys to paint them on a wall for us to see today. Which is honestly pretty cool. Some Bronze Cycladic age dude apparently decided "I need me some monkeys from India" and got some mail ordered to him.

Tin from Cornwall in the British Isles was traded down to Egypt in the Bronze Age as well, though not being live cargo would make things easier.

The most secret lifehack that the Amish have is not sitting in a chair all day.
Yeah I was going to say, they spend almost their entire day doing some form of manual labor. They burn those calories what with all the old school farming and building they do. This isn’t a fucking mystery.

Diet is like 90% being a healthy weight. Also, studies have shown that people live in pre-modern tribe don't burn more calories.

I always watch the pre-race coverage for F1 one races, and one of the commentators, Bernie Collins, has a thick Irish accent, and I've always joked that she sounds Jamaican when she says "race;" she says "reyace," the typically long 'a' pronounced like a short 'e.' A little research, and today I learned that the Jamaican accent is heavily influenced by the indentured Irish servants that worked alongside West African slaves in Jamaica in he 17th century.

I learned to replace a float & flush valve in an old-timey in-wall toilet. Or I guess I'll find out in a week or so if I really did.
