Possibly, Target down here wasn't doing very well, and Target back home decided to sell off the dead weight to K-Mart, and K-Mart would only buy it if they could keep calling the old Target stores Target? But how is it they are objectively indistinguishable from one another, yet exist as wholly unrelated entities?
