Recently I was talking to a friend of mine, somehow the topic of how we remember stuff, or more accurately, how we remember different things.
I myself remember every single environment I've been in for more than half an hour. A detailed layout, down to where the sugar in the kitchen is, to the point where I've got an accurate 3D map of many different locations in my head. I do the same thing in gaming, I map out my environment, and use it to my advantage.
I figured this was normal, but not everyone does it, and some people are amazed I can. I don't know why, it just seems natural to me. On the other hand I can't remember knowledge I don't use often too well, when people keep throwing random trivia like it ain't no thing.
So really I'm curious, what and how do you remember things?
