What i just dont get.

Whenever i see someone with 2000+ posts they seem to always to have only just joined. I think i've been a member of the Escapist for about 11 months now and i'm a little shy of 60 posts, so you can understand my astonishment. I just cant understand how people can post that much (though i'm not bashing it). Can anyone explain this weird and intriguing phenomenon?

They post, you don't. But I'd guess that a lot of their posts are in forum games or user groups as well, but that's just speculation.

They post on everything, or they go to forum games, where you rack up ridiculous post counts in short periods of time.

I've been registered here for a year and i only just got 100 posts. People with 1000+ in a month or two probably just post on every thread they see. There are lots of pointless "whats your favourite _____" or "whats the longest you have ______" that only require a few words to answer. Reply to all of these threads and you get a high post number.
Thats my best guess anyway.

It's not hard to get 2k posts. It's like... if you post about 30 times a day for 2 months, that's 2k posts right there (more or less).

Atm i'm trying to get into forum games (mainly the Mass efefct RPG) but i only usually post on topics with a low amount of replies( i dont see the point of throwing my two cents on an already massive pile) and that really intrest me. But now i am beginning my drive to become a more active member of the community

I'm close to 2000 having joined recently enough I guess...

I only post in Off-Topic and Gaming, so while some days there's little to talk about, other days you can find some really good topics, and post loads at once (kind of like I'm doing today) so you end up racking up hundreds pretty quickly.

You can't really be fussy about where you post either. I post anywhere I think I have a say, or anywhere I think is fun.

I prefer posting on the regular forums, I think I'm in a user group, and I don't venture into the Forum Games and RP sectors.

I'm cool that way.

It took me a good year to get up to 1k posts. Then, in the 4-ish months that followed I started posting more and more frequently, I visited the Forum Games section for once, and I found usergroups.

Usergroups do much more for the post count than forum games if you find a fun one, though I don't use the groups solely for my post count; I just have fun in 'em.
