What if Ganon kidnapped Link instead of Zelda?

Pretty much the title.

Would you fanrage if Nintendo decided to give the players control of Zelda, and make her the new protagonist in their next game?

As long as they NEVER go back to Wind Waker graphics and overall the Wind Waker island hopping, I would definetly not mind playing as Zelda.

Well there was a CDI game where you did just that, you played a Zelda going to rescue Link. But the game sucked, not because of the role reversal but because it wasn't well made.

I wouldn't mind except for the fact that it would make no sense, Ganon always gets beat up a killed by Link, Ganon can't even kill Link so how can we believe that he actually managed to capture him?

And what was wrong with The Wind Waker's graphics? The game looked beautiful and Link had more personality in that game than any other game combined.

As for playing as Zelda:

No thanks, let's not do that again.

Nobody would have cared. The whole reason you go on your quest to save Zelda is because she's a princess. Link is just some kid.

It'd be interesting. Zeldas usually take a more active role than Peach, so a spin-off definitely has potential. And, of course, this has never been done before. Ever. Anyone who mentions something about the CDI is lying. Lying!

who would gannon know to kidnap, if link never knows he is the hero of time at the beginning of any of the games? the discovery that he is the hero of time usually happens around the halfway point of the game.

the best thing about WW, IMO. Without the island exploration, that game was nothing.

I wouldn't really care, as long as the overall gameplay was the same (L-targeting, free movement, preferably a sword (which she carries in TP anyway)).

I think it would be interesting From all of our canons of Zelda we've seen that she is determined, resourceful, gifted at magics, competent archer, has her own sword. Even if she didn't have her Shiek form and was just based on the Zelda aspect from Smash, I still think she'd be competent for a journey.

And in Twilight Princess, Link really could have cared less about saving Zelda. That was more of a favor to Midna than anything (and ya know, also a part of saving the whole world).

And many of the series' solutions were crafted by Zelda. A few problems, but also a few solutions none the less.

At least it'll be better than THE CD-I GAMES DO NOT EXIST!!!!

Joking aside, Im not sure how they would pull it off... We really never saw Zelda do anything physical like swing a sword, but she has magic. So they would probably focus on the use of magic.
