What if Ganon kidnapped Link instead of Zelda?

I am pretty sue this was done on one of those CDi games. And it was bad. Like, bad in the sense the people deny it exists.
Still it could be good if Nintendo made one nowadays.

It would be cool to see. One thing they could do is; because zeldas doesn't have Links muscle mass, she would have to dodge/evade attacks, were Link just blocks it with hes shield.

Well there was a CDI game where you did just that, you played a Zelda going to rescue Link. But the game sucked, not because of the role reversal but because it wasn't well made.

I wouldn't mind except for the fact that it would make no sense, Ganon always gets beat up a killed by Link, Ganon can't even kill Link so how can we believe that he actually managed to capture him?
Ahhh! Thats the thing though. Ganon always kidnaps Zelda, than takes over Hyrule, and Link KICKS HIS ASS (with extra empthesis). But If Ganon takes Link out of the picture, BOOM! His problems are solved... which actually, having the game start after Ganon already has Hyrule would be interesting.

I would say the franchise would be getting a serious facelift.
My words exactly. And Zelda is a cool character. Oh and why would Ganon kidnap Link? Dunno. He screws him over everytime he tries something so, get the Triforce of Courage instead of the Wisdom one. Problem solved....or so he thought! Enter Zelda!

Nintendo: Hey guys, we're thinking of taking our Blonde Haired Effeminate Protagonist and replacing it with a Female.

Square Enix: Yeah, we tried that recently. Don't.

I think that would be a very good idea, just as long as it doesn't mean she'll throw high-heels instead of a boomerang.... ehh yeah, no simple skin-swapjob, but a full character with her own skillset.

Nah, they should change it to the Legend of Link just to fuck with people for the sake of consistency. The link Getting kidnapped thing is interesting but do I have to play as Zelda? I'd much rather play as Midna or a new young elf prodigy who carries on the torch.

They'd have to totally revamp the formula...I guess she could acquire spells rather than tools...yea, that actually sounds pretty fuckin sweet...

but aside from that, Ganon would have a LOT of explaining to do to his parents...

I would hope that means you get to play as Zelda. Of course, this raises the question of why a princess should go off and save some country boy who she's never met (unless they do a sequel to one of the previous games). I guess a seer would have to fill her in. Then, there would be the problem of the kingdom letting her go do something so dangerous. Still, if it was done well, I'd certainly check it out.

NOTE: I said 'done well'. Those Zelda games on that one platform do not fall under that title.

In a bizarre switch of themes, the kingdom of Hyrule obtains the services of an elven scientist. Works for me.

Pretty much the title.

Would you fanrage if Nintendo decided to give the players control of Zelda, and make her the new protagonist in their next game?

As long as they NEVER go back to Wind Waker graphics and overall the Wind Waker island hopping, I would definetly not mind playing as Zelda.
Wind Waker's graphics are the only reason why it's held up as well as it has visually. Really it hasn't aged too much.

Wind Waker has great graphics that hold up much better then the much lauded (by me included)Majoras Mask. Island hopping was awesome as well.

Now if you complained about Tingle....we could talk.

Then people who are only passingly familiar with the series would stop accidentally calling the male player character of this series "Zelda" instead of "Link".

That depends.

Can zelda use magic, avoid doing fetch quests and maybe kill a ************ or two. Then I accept it.

How about Nintendo puts the Legend of Zelda franchise to rest? I know it's Nintendo's policy to beat dead horses with their own mutilated limbs before choking it with it's entrails but come on, do we really need more rehashing of the same game? They are getting so lazy that their latest Zelda game was a straight up carbon copy of an old game put on the 3ds.

If they did make Zelda the protaganist of the next game I'm sure they would be praised for their creative prowess despite it only being a role reversal. Sorry for the hate towards Nintendo but I'm starting to get pissed at their inability to come up with an original series after so many years.

Maybe cause Zelda games are freaking awesome. And calling a re release a lazy carbon copy is just plain ignorance on your part. Thanks for trying.

If you want to ***** about dead horse beaters go attack any sports game, or Cod. 3 years between releases is not a cheap cash in.

That would require Nintendo to actually be somewhat original and make them think outside the box. Which, as we all know, is an impossibility.
