What if Skyrim is awful?

I will be so sad if this game isn't good. Dragon Age was disappointing enough.

If it really it awful, then I guess I could go play Battlefield 3, MW3, Gears of War 3, or Saints Row 3. My reaction would originally be something along the lines of:

I really don't think it will matter. It's an Elder Scrolls game. It could be the worst game ever and there will be still be heaps of people who play for hundreds of hours.

It would be so terrible. But at the same time so funny, to just see all the hype, fall right unto the floor, my own included. Would be very sad, but.. Also somewhat funny, if you ask me.

But in all seriousness, if it is bad, then we will be hearing an awful lot of whining about an already over hyped game.

It's The Elder Scrolls. It will be awesome. And even on the off chance it isn't, people will buy it anyway, because they love Bethesda so much.

I'm guessing you haven't been keeping up with the videos and previews written by various gaming publications over the last 8 months, then.

Then I will be disappointed, get over it, trade it in for another game and move on. I still have copy of Oblivion for when I need my Elder Scrolls fix and I've never even touched Morrowind.
