What if time skipped ahead?

So watching unskippable i got the idea. what would happen if time skipped ahead an unknown amount of days and hours. how would we know what time it is? and how would we reset all the clocks? discuss.(exactly what time not roughly)

Can't you figure that stuff out from the stars? Unless we skipped ahead so far the stars had all changed. That would count for day and for time of day I guess the position of the sun or moon?

Like in Futurama? If so I guess the clocks/dates/otherthingstodowithtime will be recorded somewhere at the time like on a clock or calender.
