Oh, this scenario. Used to be possible with PC games before big-ass lock-ins such as fusing a CD key with a online account ala WoW/B.net 2.0 (B.net 1.0 just required you to make an account for each game and have a verified disc in the drive to play) or any MMORPG nowadays, or systems such as Steam.

Last game I bought and was able to sell on (to a store) without breaking any TOS related to having the key hooked to some damned account was the PC port of the PS2 version of Power Rangers: Super Legends from 2007.
Why did I sell the game you may ask? I wasn't gonna pay out the nose for a multitude of keyboards that inevitably get turned into piles of broken plastic out of frustration at the button-masher turned keyboard-smasher game that was PR:SL, so I saved my sanity and wallet by selling on the fucker. This is one game I wouldn't consider torrenting even if you PAID me to do so! (save yourselves the trouble, try and find the DS version of the game, it's WAY better!)
