Picture this. You've been waiting for this game to come out for a long time. None of the trailers have shown gameplay but the cutscenes look amazing. You finally get the game and when you get to your house you see the title screen and it looks astounding. You start up the game and the opening cinema is everything you thought it to be. But when you start to play the game it's a stick figure sidescroller. Now granted it's a very good one but the cinema visuals were FFXIII standards. Question 1: How do react to this? Two: What do you do about it?

EDIT: It's full retail price, it does not look uncommon for a flash game, and the cutscenes are regular length

This wouldn't be an issue since a lot of my favourite games are side-scrolling platformers.

Sounds like a fun game :) are the cutscenes long, or are they just small snippets of action in between the side scrolling glory? But I probably would still play it, it's fun :)

Well I probably would not buy the game without having seen any gameplay, but depending on how good of a sidescroller it was, and how much it cost me I wouldn't be too upset. Side-scrolling platformers are, after all, pretty great a lot of the time.
