In this thread, list what would be cool for a game to involve and what effect this would have on the game experience. When you post also try to add a response to one idea of your choice and the one above yours(dont have to if you dont wanna).
Ill start us off.

What if games stopped putting you in the aftermath?
Silent hill would be a seamless first person game with no story other than, "Escape this"

What if WoW and WAR fused to make War of War.....war and judging by WoW(havent played WAR) it will involve no war whatsoever

Oh and games will never stop putting you in the aftermath. If they dont then theyll make it so that you cause the problem then in the sequel you're in the aftermath. That or you have to have a really good computer/console/whatever because you'll have to deal with "the innumerable hordes that rained down upon *insert place here*"

EDIT: I take back the no war in WoW thing http://www.wowwiki.com/Quest:The_Battle_For_The_Undercity_%28Horde%29 :D

What if every decision you make in a game really did effect gameplay? I guess you would probably regret having that Indian food a few hours later when you're stuck on the toilet and you can't do anything else for at least half an hour.
Or, what if your old character/s stuck around in the game and showed up randomly? Would they be pissed that you abandoned them? Would they help you out because they used to work for you?

Maybe I'm not fully comprehending what you mean here, but this has been done. People tend to hate it unless it is done really well. "Where am I? What's going on? What is the story? What am I supposed to do?" etc. are all questions that frustrate the gamer. It leads to all those 'You wake up in a strange place with no memory' plots which have been done to death.

What does 'Not being put in the aftermath' have to do with anything? Again, maybe I'm misunderstanding, but lots and lots of games do exactly what you're asking here.
