Within fiction, a woman who can perform magic.

Within reality, a delusional woman (if self professed, if others are making the claim about a 3rd party, then it applies to them instead). The term is not applicable to anything outside of fiction that I do not view as nonsense.

Male, c) 22-30

A witch is a special infected that someone on your team will always startle just to be a douche.

Well, firstly, I am a Witch (don't believe me, it says in my profile). I believe it means someone of either gender who practises magic, particularly darker or more ethereal forms. Though others prefer witch to refer strictly to females and wizard to refer strictly to males.

Though it can also be applied to devious, cruel females, magical or not.

A miserable pile of secrets...Oh sorry a witch.

C) To me a witch is a mortal woman who is in communion with the spirits, be they good or evil, and practices magic and potion brewing, they can be good or evil and my favourite witches in literature are the ones in Macbeth who are just jerking him around with premonitions which turn out to be self fulfilling prophecies.

"Your average witch is not, by nature, a social animal as far as other witches are concerned. There's a conflict of dominant personalities. There's a group of ringleaders without a ring. There's a basic unwritten rule of witchcraft which is 'Don't do what you will, do what I say'. The natural size of a coven is one. Witches only get together when they can't avoid it" (Witches Abroad).

As quoted from our lord, Terry of Pratchett..

The first thing that pops into my head when I think which is woman that casts magic. Possibly an old hag, or young beauty depending on the story. Male magic users are generally called wizards or warlocks, so that's a different thing.

And I generally use another word that rhymes with witch to describe evil devious women.

For the record, I generally consider Wiccans to be a different thing entirely. Its a pagan religion after all and there is no such thing as magic in reality.

Not telling your gender? I'm guessing female. No other reason to not tell on a forum populated by males.

A witch is someone who practices witchcraft. By wiccan definition male or female can be witches, there is no sexual discrimination.

Oh, there are plenty of other reasons to maintain an ambiguous gender. I don't care what people think, as long as they're perpetually confused. :D

A female with the ability to turn people into newts (they get better) and weigh less than a duck.

Monty Python aside, the term has been used in so many different ways its hard to really say what it is supposed to mean. I've always considered it to be the female term for a warlock.

Lol. It won't work on me. You're now officially a girl. True or not and whether you like it or not.
