What is everquest 2 extended?

Ok i went to the everquest 2 website to see how much it is per month now, only to discover it is now free to play. I was shocked. Anyway, i was wondering, is extended the same as regular everquest 2? is it the same game just with a new name?

Im not really sure about anything to do with everquest lol, just felt like taking a look cause i just quit WoW

EQ 2 free version. PVE its better than WoW IMO. Shit ton more to do. On the paid servers the population is dismal. Not sure about the free ones though. But its the same game at its core. Just free

I tried the free thing. Its only up to the shadow odyssey, and most of the stuff doesnt work unless you pay a subscription.

EQ2 is actually quite nice. It's a time sink: Sure. It's SOE: Sure. But, it's just quite nice to waste a few hours on.

Pretty, Sounds good, numerous character options. Just a nice pleasant experience.
