So yesterday and the day before I was looking through a topic about how customers are always stupid (well some are anyways) and I noticed a lot of people were banned but there was one thing I noticed, some of them didn't even have a reason for being banned, like this one guy said he was banned but didn't give the thing under his post saying "This user was banned for this post" or whatever, has anyone else noticed this? (also the people who were banned had some of the BEST stories about stupid customers)

I'd delete that if I were you. Moderators are not fond of those who discuss their banning methods. That's on any forums, not just here. I can't find any rule against it, but its a bad idea.

And you don;t know the whole story on bans anyway. Considering how the escapist actually has a tier system (something I hardly ever see) in punishment, you can pretty much be sure they deserved it for some reason or another.

Again, delete that.

Might just be a build up of bad behaviour - no post in particular.

Though it would be useful if they actually said that.

That thread is old, maybe the threads they got banned in had been deleted.

Can you link the thread? I want to read it.
Just look up "the customer is always wrong" on the search, it's there (and I've seen a couple of other threads too but mainly that one)

Is there proof of this thread? If so i would need to see it or i will believe you speaking in Balderdash
Look up "The customer is always wrong"
A 29 page thread well better get started. The fact that you know where those posts are means you can link to that page and if you scroll down to the specific bannings we can go to that exact spot and don't spend 10 minutes looking up some bannings. I'll be back with most likely a good reason.

Well since the posters themselves have posted all over they`re not hard to find, just look through page 1 through 6, trust me, you`ll find them before that

Ok if thats the case then i will point something out for you.

http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.70218-The-Customer-Is-Always-Wrong?page=3

If you will look it says the user at the bottom of that page got banned in the black mesa thread. Click that link and it will take you to the post, click on that post, and read the post. I remember him he was generally a little mean in all his posts now that one was obviously... well you get it. It doesn't need a reason it should be obvious.

That thread is quite old, and mods used to never leave messages on obvious bannings hey still don't (They still don't for probations or suspension or trolling banns). They do do it now. So look at the dates of the bans.

The thread was in 2008, so the posts they were banned for had been locked and deleted.
Just to clarify, I think the mods do have to actually ban a person from a post they make, but it doesn't necessarily have to be because of just that post - they've often left notes saying "this person is a troll" or whatever. I don't think they can just ban someone from their profile or whatever: it has to be from a post, no matter when it was made.

Alright one was a Suicide post most defintely, stupid stuff said then a link to a thread that was 404'd

Another was banned on a 404 thread which happens a lot on ones that are 404'd there is a reason it happened in the first place

One was given a ban for a random post and under it the mod said the user wanted a ban

The guy with the rocker avatar also acted stupid in a post, and probably had a history

then theres was also the one i showed you, there is no question they all deserved it
