What is it about Nintendo games that make people so angry?

I didn't know there were waterproof tablets. Even so I'd be leery about exposing my expensive electronics to that much water and vapor. It sounds like it would be fun, though I already spend too much time in the shower as it is.

The anger seen from people playing games like Smash, Mario Party and Mario Kart definitely is definitely pretty childish.

the anger heard from those players though really isn't that much different at all to the shit talking and anger you hear over Xbox Live and PSN from both 12 year olds and older players.

humans both young and old are generally just pretty stupid tbh.

I've just started playing Mario Kart Wii and it can get very frustrating at times. In several races now I've been hit with multiple red and blue shells in a row, as I was in first place at the time, only to be sent halfway back into the pack because I've effectively been stunlocked.

This wouldn't be that annoying but I rarely get red or blue shells.

It feels as if the game wants to punish me for being in front and not being in front.

Occasionally, I?ll put my tablet in a large Ziploc bag to listen to music in the shower; waterproof tech for the price of a 2-cent bag; boom, bitchezzz! May not be living in the future, but I?m certainly living in a dirt cheap, equally effective present!

I don't think picking on just Nintendo for competitive games is fair - It's not just restricted to one company. Nintendo just tend to make more good party games where friends are all in one room being competitive. A lot of people get annoyed when they don't win and some go on an ego-trip when they do, which also annoys other people.

Personally. Mario Kart can make me feel cheated out of a win when I get a shell hurled at me at the last minute when I was about to get first place. But I don't tend to feel the same aggravation if I'm playing it on my own.

So, what is your opinion? What is it about Nintendo games that brings so much Ire, and what is wrong with Nintendo that they seem to seek out this game design in particular?
I always thought of it as the living room experience. Nintendo is still a console you can set up in a room and get a group together and play. Take all these competitive multiplayer games, throw friends and family into the mix, and you've got a recipe for rage.

It happens all the same with other consoles and PC, but they're more about online play. But to be fair, they don't really focus on the kind of brutal, screw-you-over kind of multiplayer games like Mario Party or Mario Kart that really ratchet up the blood.

I noticed that (young)adult fanbases of things that are generally aimed at younger audiences, usually have a noticable chunk of assholes. Nintendo probably isn't different in that vein. As of why? Hard to tell.

Because there's something about how balanced most of the games are?

It's one thing to have a broken game that's easy to go 'o, yeah, that happened'.

But Nintendo is pretty good at making anything OP OBVIOUSLY OP, like...that's the point.

Plus, rarely is a first party Nintendo game BAD...even the 'worst' are usually just 6/10.
