I think in psychology at least, and maybe psychiatry, something is classified as abnormal if it has a standard deviation greater than 2...basically meaning the feature is very far away from what you would normally expect.

Although normality is a very subjective thing. A lot of people would find someone believing that God is talking to them completely different from believing a little green man is talking to them.

I think "normal" is a thing of general consensus, not necessarily about the average/majority. Things that the society generally accepts to the point of indifference are the "normal" ones, I suppose.

Normal is a weird thingamajig, it is something that is there, but not there. You can often define things not normal, but will usually have difficulty defining what it actually is. A very odd thing to say the very least. So odd, I find it hard to consider normal.

Normal is average, mediocre, ordinary, boring, at the middle of the bell curve. I despise its use as an adjective in most cases. And those whose ideal is "normality". Who expect you to conform to whatever they consider normal. How boring is that? Guess what. There's no such thing as normal. If you pride yourself on being an ordinary person, from another perspective you could be considered a freak of nature. The concept of normality is a defence mechanism against that which is feared and misuderstood.

Okay, for serious. It's basically anything the society you're in would deem acceptable. I'm in an American suburban community, so pretty much everyone here is working a job or getting some kind of scholarly education or any combination of the two. Sometimes you get the weekends off; there's church on sundays, or maybe not. Any way you slice it, you'd be considered a normal person.

I guess it's normal if what you're doing is so common, no one really cares about it. If you're attracting undue attention, perhaps you aren't normal. I recommend performing a diagnostic on your unit, and then connecting back to your main server to download a backup run-time. Attention could be... problematic for us.
