Cowboy Bebop Update Whatever:

So just Spike ambushed the Outlaw Guy wearing a poncho and sombraro for no reason than the show writers felt the need to go "HEY YOU GUYS WE JUST LOVE SERGIO LEONE COWBOY MOVIES AND NOIR MOVIES TOO GET IT THATS WHY ITS CALLED COWBOY BEBOP!" But then Kung Fu happens and its all "BUT WE ALSO LIKE RETURN OF THE DRAGON! ARN'T WE UNIQUE LITTLE SNOWFLAKES!?"

Alright Cowboy Bebop so do I but you don't me hollering it from my goddamn roof.
...You really are trying your hardest to discredit it aren't you?

Anime is just another medium like books and movies.

You can't hate all anime or love all anime. Just liek you can't hate all movies or love all songs.

Neon Genesis Evangelion?

Great anime, bad choice for a newcomer.
This, basically.
Also, if you're going to watch Evangelion, watch the whole thing. Please.
also dont try too watch it in one sitting (it left me in a bit of a depressed state)
Ooh I did that, it's odd isn't it? Though I felt much better about going to school the following day.
I was already pretty depressed (I got bullied ALLOT around the time I watched it)
Hah, I was getting the same, but from teachers >.< (that was just a heh, not actually laughing at you)

Cowboy Bebop Update 3? Maybe 4? I don't even care.

Oh how adorably predictable. The quiet dangerous badboy main character flirts with the mysterious and dangerous dame. Jealous boyfriend kicks his ass. Oh but wait he was just doing it to pick the dudes pocket he didn't really care about the girl.

Or does he?

Literally every single frame of this episode is trying its hardest go "HEY GUESS WHAT WE WATCH A LOT OF MOVIES YOUR DAD LIKES."
I found bebop to be sort of a homage to western cowboy movies, but with a bit of a space spin. (Bit of being an understatement. And stop being such an ass to people xD, quietly dismiss them), no need to be mean.

I actually really like this a bunch. I'm probably going to watch more of it.

It's just funny how hard it trying to appeal to the Film Nerd crowd.

Cowboy Bebop shouldn't even be called Cowboy Bebop. It should be called "This is Anime for People who have 35mm Prints of Underloved Movies from the 70's In Their Basements. Also I Got Beat The Fuck Up in Highschool: The Series."

sadly owning any form of self-defense (or the act of self defense) is illigeal in Holland but I still regret to this day for being the whimp I was and I still want revenge on those assholes

is there anything better than watching film critics and weaboos go at it?
Oh wait, yes there is! A TV show that mixes Fist full of Dollars, Chinatown, and Blade Runner! *drools*

I know Texas America Murphy was just trying to be smug with that comment, but he only managed to hype that show for me...

Oh, one more thing. Do NOT, for a LONG TIME, watch Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni. I am not trying to bait you into watching it by telling you the name and making you curious, I am seriously telling you to avoid it for a good long while. It's a pretty stereotypical anime in the sense of "the FUCK is the plot" and also has rather ludicrous amounts of blood to be a romantic thingy. It was the first anime I watched all the way through (and as of today is stil the only one), and it honestly wasn't that good. I had watched it almost exclusively for the violence (psycho twins with green hair + possible government conspiracy = whee), and even that wasn't as much as I expected. I basically had to think like an otaku to understand it, and thinking like an otaku is a thoroughly defiling experience.

So if you come across Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni any time soon, avoid the fuck out of it. Please.
Just givin' ya the heads up.

Pointing something out is not the same thing as doing it.

Fourth. And not as much as I am.

And in case you didn't understand me earlier.

Deal with it.

I think, based on some of the earlier posts you made about unresolved tension and lack of understanding after the first episode, that you may be missing a piece of fundamental information regarding anime.

It's all part of one story, they are not 'episodes' as such, much segments of a long film, do not expect to fully understand them after the first few pages, so to speak.

If you already understood that, then sorry, my bad =)

Secondly, Cowboy Bebop should be good, enjoy, and if that doesn't hook you try this [http://www.animefreak.tv/watch/claymore-episode-1-english-dubbed-online-free#English]. I was pretty much in the same boat as you a short while ago, maybe a few months, I pretty much thought that all anime was a massive waste of time, full of stereotypical characters with oversized breasts. I watch one episode of Claymore on a friends request, and got hooked.

My advice is, don't look at these things with the eyes of a critic, just try to enjoy it. When I pick apart the music I like in my head (as a musician) I find things I would've liked done another way, and it can destroy what I would otherwise have got out of it. On top of this, there is a massive psychological correlation between what you expect to feel/see/e.t.c, and what you do - so much so, that it is actually possible to fool people into believing they are eating different flavoured sweets depending purely on what colour they are.
Remember this, and approach anime with a genuinely open mind, not thinking about what snarky remarks you will post on the forums later.

I really hope you end up liking anime, because, to be honest, if you can just suspend your disbelief sufficiently, and become immersed in it (as you would a video game or book), it can be a great way to unwind, and to fuel your imagination. Good luck =)

Also, I would advise that you watch subbed, as bad voice acting (acting in general) can ruin any media.

Just a different medium. I personally think so many people flock to it (Especially younger folks.) Because it evokes a sort of nice warm feeling that we all used to get when we watched cartoons.

In truth I think any form of animated story telling will beat out live action for one reason, whatever the author of the material wants, they get. There are literally not boundaries to a cartoon. We don't have to constantly wonder if Keanu Reeves portrayal of the Road Runner was spot on or what the author intended.

Awesome, I finished my GCSE's with some B's and some A's and now doing A level in my old school, which is awesommmmeee. Mainly because were doing "The cutting room" for english literature, which is an epic book xD
