I am partial to Twilight Princess as my favourite Zelda, because it it just like Ocarina but improved and longer. However, My second place is now a tie between Windwaker and Majoras Mask. I tried a long time ago to play Majoras, and gave up on the first temple because I ran out of time, and had to redo the whole thing. Recently I attempted to replay it, and just having finished the game I am really impressed, so it gets as much praise as I give Windwaker. Third and fourth place go to OoT and Legend of Zelda.

Err... Excuse me? Links Awakening is still one of the best games I've played to date.

Well besides the obligatory "OoT is the best game evorz", I really enjoyed Phantom hourglass, it's so far the only game I've played on the DS that I think uses all the systems features that well, it gets tons of bonus points for that.

I loved, loved, loved OoT, its my favorite singe game ever, but the Oracle games for the Gameboy Color together created a gaming package only rivaled by the Orange Box.

Oracle of Seasons.

Hands down. Ages was a tad more difficult for me to get through, so I couldn't finish it.

gotta be windwaker but the others are close behind

windwaker just had the most replyability (aside from mm), the 2nd best combat system and the biggest overworld to just sail around

I've played every single Zelda, since the first gold cartridge on the NES that I got for my 7th birthday, Link and I are like best buds.

I have to say, Twilight Princess on Wii has been my favorite Zelda thus far. The new tools (especially the double clawshot), the dungeons (arbiter's grounds is amazing), and the new controls (pointing and shooting the bow is just so much better than an analog stick, also, new swordfighting moves).. just made it a "definative" Zelda experience for me. I also liked the horseback combat.

Sure OoT was good too, and prior to TP, it was my favorite Zelda, I'm also a huge fan of A Link to the Past. But TP edged them out, having wolf link gave a little bit of variety to the play, Midna is way less annoying than Navi, the world is bigger for more exploration, and the heart of the game, the dungeons, are better.

Who knows, maybe the next Zelda will trump it. I don't get stuck on game so much and think nothing can top it. Cept Final Fantasy, which hasn't surpassed its peak at VI. But that isn't saying it can't one day surpass VI... it just hasn't happened (yes I know, I opened a can of worms, but hey, I don't care about you VII fans, you go ahead and enjoy your little rewrite of VI's story in futureland with anime heroes and villains, I don't care)

I also don't care if you're going to flame me for not saying OoT was the best. I don't care if it was the first Zelda you ever played so it has this big impact on you. I've been playing the series since it was introduced, and even with that big nostalgia effect, Legend of Zelda (the original NES game) isn't my favorite in the series by a long shot.

For me, this question is as hard as being asked my single favorite game ever. At least until I played Morrowind, but that is another story.

I had them ranked when I finished WW, and I felt that WW gave me the best experience after finishing the game. It even beat out LttP for me. But time has passed, and now there's Minish Cap, Twilight Princess, and Phantom Hourglass, and I don't know how to rank any of them. I think TP probably was better than WW, because there was so much more character development, narrative, and OMG cutscenes. I felt like I was playing Final Fantasy the first time through.

WW has kinda faded from memory from me, so I have to question exactly how good it really was. GREAT games don't get forgotten. At least they aren't supposed to. I can think of a few great games I don't think of as often as I should.

Minish Cap I just finished replaying, and it was REALLY good. It felt a little short, but it held my attention well. Probably better than most of the Zeldas.

As awesome as Phantom Hourglass was, I don't have much desire to pick it up again. It was too easy and there wasn't anything super memorable about it.

I also just finished replaying OoT (yeah, on a Zelda kick), and it just felt classic. More classic than when I pick up LttP. The combat always disappointed me in OoT though. I challenged myself and only picked up 2 extra hearts through the course of the game. Never died once.

With that all in mind, I'm going to rank the top 3 as such

1) OoT
2) TP
3) WW

But then I'm forgetting other awesome titles like Links Awakening. That one has the classic feel that OoT has. I just don't know. I also rushed though the GBC Zeldas, so I didn't even get to take them in as good or bad. Spirit track looks retarded, and the original NES games are too hard to just have fun with (Great when looking for a challenge though). There also was that really sweet ROM hack I played called Parallel Worlds. It obviously can't be counted as official, but it was quite an amazing game.

Wand of Gamelon.

...okay, okay, a three-way tie between Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, and Wind Waker.
