What is the fourth dimension?

Me and my friend talk about the strangest of things in class, and this question came up. We're 96% sure it's time, I'd figure I'd ask the largest group of intelligent people I know. And Neonbob.[HEADING=1]ZING![/HEADING] for all of you who don't know, in my early days of escapisting, I vowed vengence against Neonbob for insulting me on my first post. This vengence might be petty, but it was worth it.

Now I can scratch you off the list, Neonbob and work on my next target: Bobby Flay...

It's Time. The fifth dimension is what I'm asking about.

Time.

And if you were made fun of on you're first post, most likely there was a pretty damn good reason you were getting roasted in the first place.

It's a smple question. What is the fourth dimesion? the first is a line, the second is length, the third dimension is depth. I'll put it simply. the first dimension is a horizontal line. the second is a stick figure drawn on paper. the third would be drawing a cube. what's the fourth? or is there one?

And the fourth is time where you animate your cube to do a little dance.

Actually there wasn't a REAL reason, it was some thread about somebodies dog dying, and he made a mockery of me.

Think of it this way: the 0 dimension is a point without length, width, or depth. With me so far? Good.
The first dimension is a line, having length but no width or depth.
The second dimension is a plane, having length and width but no depth.
Finally, the easiest to understand - the third dimension is a volume with length, width, and depth.
Now, in order to understand the fourth dimension, we must condense all of the third dimension into a point, and string several of these points in a line. This line is time. It links various points of the third dimension together.

I hope I explained it well.

All of those of you who say it is time and only time, you are wrong. The fourth dimension is anything that can be measured and put as a coordinate. Example: the first three dimensions could be x, y, and z. The fourth could be an object's r color value, the fifth, the g value, the sixth, the b value (as colors are designated in some computer programs). It could also be the time since a particle/object was last altered physically, chemically, etc.

But in the same way, time could be defined as the first dimension, consciousness the second, potential energy the third, and x,y,z values after that. You need to be more specific in your questions and answers.

It is the change between two points of time; you can call this change a line.

Congrats on your small, but noticeable, revenge.

I think a large portion of the escapist will acknowledge that Neonbob has his tendency to be nonsensical at times, but we will also acknowledge that if he was to call someone crazy or an idiot, there is a pretty good chance they are one of the two. So for him to make a mockery of you, he had to have his reasons.

AHA!
It was in the thread asking if we were mean to newcomers!
I was jokingly insulting people so that "the mean encounter would be over with early" or something.
Rawker here was one of the very few to reply to the insult I made!

I think it really is sort of up to the user themselves to read rules and try to "blend in" as much as possible. I haven't encountered any mean people in my, what, two days here. All it takes is a little common sense.
*twitch*
You people keep tempting me!
Rawker! Your face is reminiscent of the leavings of digestion challenged dogs!
Jezzy! If you were any thicker, then you'd make good radiation shielding!

Again, this is in jest. I hope you both all continue your habits of good postings, and I wish you nothing but the best.
EDIT:

No one was mean to me. But then, I like to sit quietly in forums for a while, only making my voice heard when I feel somewhat confident in my position. Then the crazy comes out in large doses.

But then again i am new to this site but not new to the whole forum thingy so i have a general idea about the do's and don'ts and i can understand people that get a little pissy when they read the "same" thread over and over again...but that doesn't justify stupid comments no.
Wha...you two came up as I was busy posting this the first time!
Brainfreeze, your capacity for intellectual behavior is only rivaled by the attention span of a gnat.

RivFader, you are nothing but a meager scrap of a human, whose highest achievement in life is going to be the tombstone that is over your shallow grave.
And then later in the thread...

My good sir, you indeed are a humerous being, and a worthy adversary in an insult contest. i daresay, i shall find you in another thread, and requiem shall be mine. until then, have an outstanding day.
And yeah, the 4th dimension is time. Yaaaay time.

Naaah. It's all good.
He just popped his head into the thread mentioned above.
And thank you for that compliment!
My ego stroking of the day is now complete.
Pardon me while I go lock it up for the night.
