The ending of No Country For Old Men. Seriously... what the hell? Maybe it made more sense in the book? I just don't know.
No, not really. The movie really follows the book to a T if my memory serves correct. I thought I was missing a few chapters when I finished.

Also, I'm going to second Assassin's Creed 2. Desmond actually shared my "WTF" sentiments.

Lost, X-Files, Battlestar Galactica, The retarded plot to the entire last season of The Wire....

Yes I know The Wire season 5 was based on real events but it's still crap.

That's double for the AC2 ending, Alien Space Gods? are you kidding me?
That one left me wondering if the only writer with any self respect had committed suicide. I'd forgotten about that one, so maybe it was a repressed memory or something. Space gods, what bullshit...

Any "open" ending. I don't mean so much cliffhangers, although those are a pain in the ass. I mean ending a story but leaving established plot threads open. You were telling me the story, I don't want it left up to my imagination, I want it left up to yours. That is the main reason I don't enjoy most horror novels, and many horror movies.

The three "Beast House" books by Richard Laymon are great examples of this. Those are massively fucked up books, bestiality, lots of death, rape (a child too) etc. So it works rather well as a work of horror. Then of course there's the whole "surprise" attack at the end, with no resolution. The worst part is, it only happens at the end of the trilogy. The first two books actually end properly, all the important stuff all wrapped up. I just pretend the third one ended about three pages earlier, cause then everything's all nice and resolved.

Good to know they didn't just botch the movie ending, I guess. Hahaha.

I hate endings where the hero goes through so much, only for the end result usually having some tragedy. Like Radiata Stories: either path you take, you pretty much had to sacrifice something. Always pissed me off.

Jean de Florette and Manon de Source.

Good films, but at the end of the first one you're looking forward to revenge on the two villains for the effective murder of Jean, and although they're both dead by the end of the second part, you feel guilty for it because it makes them forgivable.

I feel so confused!

A premature one.

The end was a mess. By that I mean that it was fairly obvious that Cole was going to die; if RDR wasn't enough then the massive wave approaching him at break neck speed while he made feeble attempts to jump at safety was; and the tension it attempted to make was an attempt in vain. On top of that, they didn't give a fuck about what was going on with the houses anymore and were only bothered with the safety of Elsa, a less than interesting character. The villain, if he could be called that, was shot dead in cold blood with no attempt to even bring him to justice as they were obliged to do. The insurance scandal, if it was still an insurance scandal, was never solved and nobody was brought to justice. Roy Earls, the character that betrayed you to the people involved in the insurance scandal was never punished or it and even gave your fucking eulogy.

The ending was a mess.

Dreamfall: The Longest Journey had one of the worst endings ever. MASSIVE cliffhanger where
all the bad guys are winning and all the 3 main protaganists are either presumed dead, taken into custody or in a coma.

Add in the fact the game was released in 2006 and it is now 2011, i find it hugely irritating they decided to go for a cliffhanger ending when they had no plans on following up on it directly afterwards (the developers are working on another unrelated game).

I have to agree with AC endings too, love the games but the endings keep getting worse and worse.

Law Abiding Citizen.

You're expecting him to have some clever plan in place, like the bomb being fake & the real bomb being hidden better, but no. He just gets blown up.

I felt L.A. Noire's ending was a bit last second and had a lot of unresolved stuff going on that I wish got addressed but I still enjoyed the game and I'm keeping it for the DLC and pretending the game has no ending.

Dante's Inferno;

*show penis*
To be continued?

Killing off John Marston was also pretty damn bad. Story wise it was awesome, but I don't want to spend my free roaming/trophy grinding sessions as his whiny brat son. I don't care if he grew up and got a mustasche. He still has the same whiny voice! I loved John Marston! ;_;

Endings that I'm too stupid to understand and thus cannot enjoy.

All Final Fantasy games: I love this series...but they always build up to an extremely cheesy ending against some unbeatable force that is only surpassed by some unexpected realization or event.
Final Fantasy 6: The ending isn't really that bad, sure they beat the godlike boss, but only after the godlike boss has well, warped and distorted the planet to a state that humanity struggles to live on.

for TV, the Mid Season Cliffhanger, why they even feel the need to put a long ass break into the middle of a TV season is beyond me, and it really frustrates to no end

Persona 4 BAD ENDING!...

I really like how you need to think to get an actual staisfying ending, but first time i played i did not think... and it all felt like a huge Dick move...

I literally went "WHAT!? WHAT WHAT WHAT!??!!!!"
And imediately went on the web to see if i missed anything...

Thankfully for Persona... I did... :)

And now Persona 4 is one of my favourite games :)

As for games... I would say that any kind of "congratulations" screen or a "Thankyou for playing!" would be a killer for me.
For some reason this kind of reminds me of a chili contest I had at my college... Every day the dining commons would serve hotter and hotter chili, and you had to eat a whole bowl with only 1 small glass of water. At the end of the last day, instead of a "Congratulations!" or a "Great job!" of any kind, the response I got from the people putting on the contest was "Thanks for eating at the dining commons all week!" It really annoyed me. Of course I knew it was a scheme to get people to eat there, but I didn't need them blatantly telling me. I got a pretty awesome t-shirt from it, but still...

Dragon Age 2 is the most recent ending that has giving me an intense feeling of disappointment.

Seriously, I felt it was like a kick to the nads, it all came way too quickly and I honestly couldn't believe this was the end game even as I was fighting the final boss (who I was totally shocked was the final boss)

Left a bad aftertaste and further dragged down my opinion of the game.
Aye the ending did come too quickly but I did like the mystery presented at the end of it.

The fact that the Warden and the Champion have both dissappeared.

The end of Mirror's Edge.

That and I imagine the end of the Twilight book saga, not that I've read it. But if I had I would've been expecting something less insane, but I haven't. I would never read the Twilight saga... twice.

Oh and Shutter Island, I was expecting something less obvious.
