Ok, so today my younger brother managed to tear one of his toes open, because he smacked his toenail into the front door when he got home. It started bleeding all over the place, and it's turned this really disgusted black/purple colour. Now, over dinner, we were sort of talking about how this was going to affect his sports and I mention that it's starting to look almost necrotic, since it's this horrid colour, and then proceed to explain that it's because blood is collecting underneath the nail and drying.

At this point, my father turns to me and says that this is the most nauseating thing he's ever discussed with me at the dinner table. I make mention of the fact that, on several occasions, my mother, who works in the labor and delivery ward, has explained the logistics and techniques used when performing a Cesarean Section at dinner. Now, this is where this actually becomes a forum, because now my father says that, in all honesty, he'd rather discuss C Sections than mangled toes/fingers, since a lot of his own toenails were torn off during his youth, and he really just doesn't like the imagery/memories that come to mind.

And so, fellow Escapists, I ask you, what is the one topic that you have the most trouble discussing, either because you just don't enjoy the imagery attributed to the discussion, or due to too many unpleasant experiences regarding the subject, or really, for whatever reason?

I hate talking about pregnancy. Concepts like afterbirth and placentas just really gross me out.

Religion, because it's all based on opinion.
This, getting sick and tired of people pushing their opinion on to other people. That and any time people try and make me justify my like/dislike for something.

Politics, especially when talking about political parties and who's side you are on; it's all pretty foolish

Politics, I don't know a whole lot and I never liked the idea that you had to sign yourself to one side or the other. You should advocate for what YOU want, not getting a lesser of two evils

Yeah, I get that. It's pretty much the same situation with my own family. The only thing I've really spoken to my father about in ages is when I'm getting another job, and when I'm moving out...which is a little depressing, since I'm still 16...And of course, knowledge of my unemployment has to be relayed to every living organism withing 600 m at any given time. Well, at least it should stop pretty soon, I'm hoping to go out and get another job soon. Hopefully this one will involve less getting fired.

Pretty much the same as me. Though its kind of a love/hate thing. I love talking politics, and i'm cool with people having different opinions and whatnot and I enjoy a passionate debate, but sometimes people get too involved and it can often degrade to a personal level of arguement. That and their opinions are wrong. >:)

Lots of my friends do drugs, I don't, so when they're all talking drug talk and I'm just sitting, it can get pretty irritating. Although a couple of them are nice enough to either change the subject or come over and talk to me about something else when drugs come up as a topic.

Religion topics, repeat topics that come up four times a month and topics about "Are you single?" When so far every topic creator adds to the bottom of their posts "Im in a relationship and loving it". It's like they're asking to become hate magnets. From my view anyway.

School, I used to get in arguments ALL of the time over school. Nowadays I can't even stand being asked how I like my classes.

Relationship threads: Seriously. Email a podcast, or PM someone, I'd rather we do away with those and people work shit out with people they actually know LIKE EVERYONE ELSE.

Call of Duty: Everything about it bores me. EXCEPT COD2.
