What is the worst thing you have been accused/punished for when you weren't actually the culprit?

Well recently someone's be spreading a rumour that I'm planning on bringing a bomb into school on my last day. For some reason teachers believed this and now my Mum is involved. I'm planning on placing some Pokeballs in my bag on the last day to really confuse whoever searching it.
bad idea. The people most likely to be searching your bag for explosives tend to have a cauterized sense of humor and zero patience for practical jokes.
Heronblade is right, screw pokeballs get one of those cans with the snakes that jump out of it, everyone thinks those are funny regardless of the situation.

It's usually the little things that frustrate us after many years.
My story ended up being a lot longer then I intended

Yep that's how I feel, in middle school on the bus one day this guy sits next to me and goes about the normal loud bus shennanigans. Then one of his friends spits on his pants while he is turned around, I watch the person do this and he puts his finger to his mouth in a gesture to get me to not say anything, I decide that since I barely know these people I will just ignore it since it's none of my business. A while later the guy notices the spit and starts demanding to know who did it and I eventually get fingered for it I even then tell him who really did it, he then precedes to hit me a few times (I didnt fight back cause I was basically afraid of fighting) anyway we get to school and in first period I get called to the office and the following conversation takes place
(disclaimer this was a number of years ago so this isn't word for word what happened, just the broad strokes)

Principal: I heard there was a incident on the bus today
Me: ya and..
Prin: You know we cant just ignore things like spiting these days with the spreading of hiv and such
Me: Well, I didn't do it
Prin: Unfortuantly I cant just do nothing
Me: I didn't do it
Prin: well such-and-such said you did so.....
Me: I didn't do it
Prin: Unfortuantly I cant just do nothing
Me: BUT I didn't do it
Prin: Well something needs to be done here
Me: I didn't do it
Prin: well then who did
(I tell her, and she calls him in)
Prin: He says you are the one who spit on him
Guy: yep I did it
Prin: oh well then you can leave
( I get up and leave)

To this day I am still bitter about that because....

it seemed like I was going to get suspended for it while the guy who actually did it just got detention.

I didn't get an apology for being falsely accused, which to be honest its not the accusation that bothers me its the whole "he said you did this, therefore you did it" they didn't even ask ME what happened they were just going to punish me based on one persons lies

The guy who beat me was not punished in any way

In a way I almost wish they had just suspended me for it because I would have just walked out

I realize this is nothing compared to some of the other stuff on this topic but I am still really bitter about it

Once, I was at a theme park waiting for my friend to get off a ride (one of those ones where you're in a chair and the whole thing spins and sends you off to the side) and a classmate of mine chose to throw pebbles or something at my friend as well. Apparently, he missed every single time and hit the woman behind my friend with each pebble. The second the ride was over, the woman came right up to me and started screaming at me, ignoring every plea that it wasn't me. I just walked away, and this woman followed me around the park for like 15 minutes haranguing me and demanding I answer for my crimes. I don't even remember why she stopped, but the kid that was throwing the pebbles followed me around throughout the ordeal laughing the entire time

Giving the finger to the teacher when I was around 6. I got the living shit beat out of me with a wooden ladle till it broke and wasn't allowed to get off the couch unless I was going to sleep, school, or bathroom for 3 months and wasn't allowed to watch Tv for a year.

Grand Larceny and conspiracy to commit fraud. This coming from a government organization too.

Good thing they were wrong.
