Really they are annoyed about skins being avalible on day one THEY ARE OPTIONAL AND NOT NEEDED THEY ARE FOR FANS WANTING TO DONATE TO VALVE its not like you need to buy the Co-Op or anything.......

I never said I hated it here. All DLC is optional, doesn't mean it's not Day 1 DLC. Go back to the valve forums if you're a committed member of their internet defence force.

Oh come now, I've seen them ban people for posting legitimate comments on a game or on topic and in the same thread watched, baffled, when racist remarks and posting "noodz" went without issue. The mods there are trigger-happy and immature.


I've been lurking /v/ for years (otherwise there's a lot in gaming I'd have totally missed out on), it's not a haven of intellectual video games discussion, it's a pit of screaming man-children.

Valve needs donations? I'm pretty sure day one DLC is a pure cash grab. You're right, in this case it superfluous, but by virtue of even your statement it's still an apparent cash grab. Dressing it up as a way for people to donate to Valve only comes across as you making excuses for them (not that I'm saying you are... just seems that way).

What day 1 dlc? As far as I have found none exists.

i believe they are talking about the tf2 type store, its purpose is to sell overpriced skins from what i can tell
(on that note, portal 2 is fun as ****, but the store does not improve it)

4chan hates a lot of things, the collection of spoiled brats that they are. When your site's almost nothing but that, they've got some very serious issues.

Then again, they don't do IP address checks from what I understand, so even a ban means jack on that site. Could be one reason why the site is flooded with bad posters.

on the topic of the trigger happy mods, the rules of the internet seem to apply here quite well, namely the 2 rules stating (there are no rules for posting|there are also no rules for moderating)

No, /v/ just hates anyone with a superiority complex, and the escapist has this terrible idea that they are somehow the most intellectual and mature community on the entire internet.

/v/ is The Escapist with more lenience and a lot more reaction images. I like reaction images, but I like the aesthetic appeal of The Escapist forums more overall. Not to mention, people use grammar on these forums, thus I spend 90% of my time here.
If I ever go to 4chan it's usually for /vp/ but I do surf the front page of /v/ whenever I'm there. Just in case something catches my attention, I still love battle-station threads, you don't get those here.
Honestly, both /v/ and The Escapist are dedicated to the same culture, but the communities differ a fair deal, so I find it fun to sample both sides of the wall. Humans crave variety, after all.

I went on /b/ yesterday to find out what the fuss was about.
THe first thing I saw was a pulverised, decapitated dead body, and a story accompanying it (apparantly it was a car crash.)

Yeah, that random board has stuff other than that.

I'm not saying that there isn't stuff like that on there, but that makes up a small portion of what's posted.
