Well, it's fanbase is ridiculously whiny, abrasive, etc...
Otherwise, idk. They take too long to release new ones?

I disagree... They're just doing the graphics. Making good stories went out the window after FFXShadowsetzer said:That said, SE seems to be much more concerned with making good graphics and stories than with making good gameplay. Whether they succeed with the story or not, if the gameplay sucks, I'm not gonna keep playing.
That, in addition to the fact that Spoony outright says he *liked* final fantasy 7.Sheo_Dagana said:There you go again, selling your opinion as fact. His reviews really only focus on the negative. If I did that, I could make people think 6 is shit, too. 10-2 is aweful, but so are any of the sequel games, like Dirge of Cerberus, 13-2, and Crisis Core, despite a strong story, just wasn't fun to play.Spoony's reviews yes are usually wrong admittedly. But he was correct in his reviews of 10 and 10-2. Sad but as the saying goes "even a broke clock is right twice a day". Those reviews were his 2 times @ being right.
I will agree with you, however, that there are times when the general populace can be completely right about something. Just because a vast number of people hate 10-2 doesn't mean that it's misunderstood. Most people just hate it because they think it's garbage after having played it, and I am perfectly inclined to agree with that opinion.
Sorry to hijack the threat and whatnot, but I just had to ask.Aeonknight said:Count me among one of those 500,000. SE is even coming out with a new expansion, despite the game being a decade old. new continents, new jobs (despite there already being 20 of them). FF11 is far from dead and isn't going anywhere anytime soon. It'll never reach WoW levels, but the 2 were pretty close back when they were both new.erttheking said:Yeah, guess it's going better than FF14 anyway. From what I heard that was a freaking train wreck.Buretsu said:It still has about 500,000 players, so it's not doing too badly.erttheking said:It was?...huh...guess that's why some people aren't to happy with square...an MMO...what the frak?
Alot of those criticisms used to be valid years ago. The grind has been greatly reduced, along with the dependence on dedicated groups to get anything done. Things like XP have been streamlined, simply because... the grind was never that much fun to begin with.Ranorak said:Sorry to hijack the threat and whatnot, but I just had to ask.Aeonknight said:Count me among one of those 500,000. I really, really want to give this game a chance, but seeing as there isn't a free month period (as far as I know) I just want to get some up-to-date info on this game.
Is it still as grindtastic as people claimed it was. I never really minded the level of grind WoW had.
Is it really as un-solo-able as people claim? I mean, MMO's are there to work together but some solo content is always nice.
These 20 jobs you mention, I always heard there were like 5-6 proper jobs and everything else was just terrible. Picked the wrong class, good luck getting a group.
I really want to try this game, but these points stop me.
wait... So there were voice actors for the first 9 games?Cedric Rolle III said:1/ If the characters were douch bags that would be a improvemernt.
2/ The health bar needs to say the amount of health and how much health is left. Like the Pokemon games.
3/ The females voice actor, voices are to high. (I'm not racist but japan will be japan)
4/ The male characters are all soft (not in a homophobic way)but a complaing way
Any other ways to improve the game
Thanks newbie mistake.Daystar Clarion said:Never, ever use that in a sentence if you ever want to be taken seriously.Cedric Rolle III said:I'm not racist but....
The series needs to start taking itself less seriously and get some better writers, because as it is at the moment, it's like a cheesy Japanese soap opera.
YES, someone else feels it to. It's now like I want the male character to be like gears of war. I want the to not complain, moan and graon in the middle of the fight for their lives.Rawne1980 said:That has been one of my biggest issues with the FF series.Cedric Rolle III said:4/ The male characters are all soft (not in a homophobic way)but a complaing way
I love some of the games ... well, only 7, 8 and 9 really ... but I really dislike some of the male characters.
While i'm not a fan of FFX, Auron is one of my favourite characters in a FF game.
And it's the reason I couldn't play FFXIII.
Not much point playing a game where you beg and plead for terrible, painful things to happen to the male characters just to shut them the fuck up.
I have FF 13 also. The auto is so awful. It just makes me mad! I want choice and options.Rastien said:What went wrong... they tried telling people what they want rather than listening.
Seriously i tried, REALLY TRIED to play FF13 but after 3 hours of mashing "auto" and having to put no thought into the fights i couldn't be fucked.
Not to mention the story was horrendus to begin with![]()
For me personally the last final fantasy i played to the end and enjoyed was 10 and even ff10 was pushing it abit for me :/.
To bring my point home... i spent £3 on Rain Slick Precipise of Darkness 3 and i have played this for 12+ hours and i fucking love the combat in this game (mostly because its based off grandia).Cedric Rolle III said:I have FF 13 also. Old school graphics no voice acting no CGI cut scenes and imo its VASTLY superiour to FF13 which in itself is depressing :/
Is the game only for PC or is it on PSN & XBLA?
