I'm right before the 8th Gym Leader. My Chandelure took out the 7th Gym by itself and lost only 20 HP while it was still a Lampent.

Fraxure is a recent addition and I'm working on it. I rotate with EXP Shares and a Lucky Egg to level up the ones that are lagging behind.

My only real regret is Serperior. I usually choose a Grass type on my first play through because they are always overlooked by many and Serperior looks pretty epic, but his only good stat is Speed.

But now that I'm further in the game, my team is currently made up of:

Don't worry about it on your play through. It only really matters when you start to get into multiplayer.
