I never worried about my heritage and ethnic background and all that shit. If I remember right (I learned this a few years ago and haven't paid any attention to it since) I think i have irish, polish, and german, at least.

I dunno, white and British.

Other than being completely unsentimental about that sort of thing, I've also decided to not find out, in response to all those people who insist on telling you they're 3/11 Mexican, 2 acres German, and 4 double Big Macs Latino, when what you've actually done is ask them if they're American.

They also inevitably claim that they're related to some historic figure of at least some minor importance.
Haha you are awesomely cynical xD

I'm half Russian Jewish, got some Irish and some French Canadian. Seeing as how my grandmother was French Canadian born in Manitoba, I assume it means I have at least some Metis in me.

And unlike this cynical bastard above me, I wouldn't mind finding out more about my heritage, it'd be kinda cool to know.

I'm not saying its not cool to know about your heritage(cause it is). I just never thought it was THAT big of a deal. And It always pissed me off when someone would ask me about my heritage(Edit: Without getting to know me first). My heritage does jack shit of defining who I am. Also, thanks for the compliment. Cynical bastard to me is one of the nicer things i've been called :D

Errrm >_> I was kind of talking to the guy I quoted... but I guess it works for you. Also the cynical bastard thing wasn't really mean spirited, just so you know.

German and Scottish are the only ones I can confirm based on family records. They immigrated to Canada first, then split when one side got wealthy on an invention patent (early plastic I think) and told the other half to take whatever was left, and beat it. Well the other half got the last laugh, they simply created businesses/factories in the U.S where there was no patent for that plastic. They somehow made it to Florida, founded a newspaper, and we've been hanging around here ever since ^^.

Due to one side of my family residing in Minnesota (for goodness knows many generations) there could be Ojibwe or Dakota Native blood in me, or any number of nationalities including French/French Canadian, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Slovenian,English, German, Norwegian, Finnish,Czech, Italian, and Polish (all those groups immigrated to the Northern U.S due to offers of cheap farmland and rich/useful land in general between the 1850s- early 1900s).

This is not to say I have any of those in my background, at most I have some French, Nordic, English or Native ancestors in there somewhere and nothing more.

7/8 Scottish and 1/8 Fijian. My family's lived in New Zealand for a fair few generations, though.

Although I did trace it back at one point, it turns out one of the King Henrys gave my ancestors land so they wouldn't be stranded on the streets.
See, if he was a douche I'd be dead now.

We can confirm that my family is at least 7/8 German, with a small amount (1/8 in myself at the most) of Irish, but it is present. There may also be a small amount of French, but I'm not 100% certain of that.

I am a pale bastard:

quarter German, quarter Austrian, half Scottish(Isle of Skye & Isle of Mull), but I have an Indian last name (yeah, makes no sense, believe me I KNOW).
