What is your favorite mod? It can be for any reason, silly, serious, frivolous or otherwise. Please include the name of the game, the name of the mod, and what it does.

Personally, mine is for Oblivion, the Midas Magic mod, and it adds a crap-load of new spells to the game (over 200), and a few quests.

I've not been gaming on the PC long enough to have many mods, but I've got me some fun sound mods for TF2 and another mod that makes my HUD replace the characters in the bottom left hand corner with characters from Lucky Star in TF2 getup...

Well i was a X3 purist for a long time, and the vehicle overtuning mod was pretty nifty. Basically at a bbs inside a docking station it allowed you to tune your shipe to be faster, more shields or w/e but it would have a chance of not working and you would break ur ship...

Finnish Defense Mod for Operation Flashpoint Resistance

What it does is it brings the Finnish Army into the game. With all Finnish Army weapons, vehicles... heck, they even made the radio chats in Finnish. Also the mod has some awesome music too. But I think the main reason I like this is that Im from Finland too, so that makes this mod even better :)

EDIT: Also, Chernarus Life for ARMA II. It was RPG Mod for ARMA. Two teams, civilians and cops. Civilians have to get money, what they can use on factories,weapons,cars,food.... They can get that money by doing delivery jobs or some other jobs OR of course drug dealing and bank robbering. Cops are there to keep an eye on the civs.

Like this one time one cop player pulled me over and searched me for drugs. Good think he didn't check the trunk of my car, I had like 20 Ak's there :D

Can't really say because every mod I have put on my computer has messed it up in some way, so I just don't deal with them anymore.

MY favourite mod is Fellout for Fallout 3, in combination with the Streetlights mod. Really adds to the immersion of the game.

Mod for fallout that gives you the buster sword for FF7. Man that playthough was fun. I'M THE LONE WONDERER..... CLOUD STRIFE!!! mahaha...

That and another fallout mod that allows you to have anyone in the game as a follower. I had an army of outcasts. It did slow my computer down abit though.

That's easy...counter-strike.
umm... c'mon now, don't lie. You know it's Dota. You may not have even played it, but you know in your heart that it's Dota.

Science and Industry was an absolute riot and easily my favorite Half Life mod. It worked like this, there are two teams, and each team has a base, inside each base was a team of scientists. The scientists did two things, one, they made your team money and two, over time they researched new, more powerful weapons, with the ultimate goal of having more money than the other team when the time ran out. The more scientists you had in your base, the more money your team would make and you would develop new weapons more quickly. Since there was a finite number of scientists in the map, the only way to get more scientists was to steal them from the other team. You did this by going into the enemy base, clubbing them over the head, and dragging them out. So, kind of like capture the flag, but a lot more fun, especially because of how dynamic and unpredictable it was.`

I would love to have a new version of it built in Source.

A NWN mod I played many moons ago, can't quite recall the title but basically you're the princess to this kingdom which is attacked, the monarchy is overthrown and off you go into the wild world.. sounds kind of rote, but shit gets real in the first 10 minutes and doesn't really ever let up.

Any mod that saves Oblivion from its awful leveling system.

The Dragon Age mod I am currently working on.

Anything made by the Gibberlings 3.

Enhanced Configuration Project for Operation Flashpoint.

It improved the sound and special effects immensely, added situation-relevant battle chatter, AI improvements, and is completely configurable. Brilliant mod.

I'll tell you what it would be, if the 1.32 point release patch for Quake 3 would FUCKING WORK

Generations Arena adds classes to the all the traditional game modes. These classes are in fact the main characters from the games DooM, Quake, Quake 2, Quake 3 and Return to Castle Wolfenstein. Each class is given the specific weapons from the game from which they herald to kill each other with. Also included in the mod are some of the best multiplayer maps from each game.

Seriously, this is the greatest idea ever. I'm sure.

Until then, Action DooM 2. It is absolutely phenomenal what has been achieved with the DooM engine, and the gameplay is a fun, interesting change from most FPSes. The awesome main character and the different paths through the game just make it however.

I'd also like to vote for Unreal Fortress, which would have made a much better sequel to Team Fortress Classic than Team Fortress 2. Sadly it can only be played against bots, but I still enjoy it.
