What is your favorite type of music?

As a musician, I am very curious about the musical tastes of different demographics. I would like to know the gaming communities musical preferences (as well as find some new types of music to listen to).

I prefer listening to a variety of music including classical (all style periods), rock (mainly ska and metal), jazz, and world music of many cultures (African music is particularly interesting).

So Escapist community, what type of music is your favorite?

Just in case you were wondering, I am a classically trained trumpet player.

And, well, anything that sounds remotely like the classic Eddie Vedder/Kurt Cobain/Chris Cornell/Etc. grunge vocal style.

I've recently been getting into jazz quite a bit; early Coltrane, that kinda thing. Otherwise I don't really have a favourite genre. On my ipod I've got Lost Prophets, Machine Head and Madonna all next to each other.

Irish Folk is always good; Cara Dillon especially.
Rock; as defined by Hendrix, Led Zepplin etc.
Pink Floyd (yes, they are a genre now).
Indie; The Shins.
Jazz; but only some jazz... there is SOOOO much jazz!

I used to only like metal, but I'm a classically trained musician, so my teacher got me into some other stuff too. lol

These days, I mianly just listen to metal and blues. I also like some of the stuff people make with Vocaloid, but I only like the Miku and Luka programs when it comes to that. I'm really picky about that stuff though.
