I used to love me some Ctrl+Alt+Del, but it just got way too absorbed into its own plots. I dunno.

I guess my favorite *video game* web-comic is Penny-arcade, but my favorite is Questionable Content.

My current favorite webcomic would have to be Homestuck.

http://mspaintadventures.com/?s=6

It is an extremely long comic with over 4000 pages to date, with most of them being animated slightly. There is an entertaining story involving 4 kids who have to save the universe by playing a game that takes place in real life, while dealing with a whole bunch of timey-wimey mumbo jumbo. The thing is that it still hasn't ended yet and probably won't for some time now.

VG cats hasn't been funny in forever. I kind of feel the same way about Penny Arcade.

Cyanide and Happiness is awesome. Hyperbole and a Half is pretty cool, too.

But if I'm being honest, I believe the absolute BEST webcomic on the internets is Jack.
If you don't believe me and haven't seen it, GO CHECK IT OUT. NOW!
Be warned, if you have any problems with any mature themes, you may want to stay away. It's is the darkest piece of fiction in existence. (Bronies, think Cupcakes 3 times a chapter, illustrated, with an overarching plot.)

Now my favorites (My god I read a lot):
2kinds (cute)
Goblins (good story, solid characters)
Order of the Stick (very funny, decent plot)
Looking for Group (starts funny, experiences cerebus syndrome)
Weregeek (geeky, funny)
Jack (^^)
Nerf Now (TF2, Warcraft, gaming comentary/jokes)
Better Days

I've probably forgotten a few.

My personal favourite?
Sandra and Woo , followed closley by Blip.
(These are actually webcomics I discovered relatively recently, so they replaced previous favs)

Video game related ones that aren't VG Cats?
Ctrl + Alt + Del, Manly Guys Doing Manly Things, and Looking for group (Not specifically video games- inspired, but fantasy role-play in general).

Both Goblins and Looking for Group are good for fantasy related comics( http://www.goblinscomic.com/ http://lfgcomic.com/page/511 ) while Penny Arcade and CAD are good for random funny and internet/gaming references( http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/ http://www.cad-comic.com/cad/ )
As for my favorite, I'll have to go with Nuklear Power. Where else will you find the great Boatdoken? http://www.nuklearpower.com/2002/12/24/episode-229-blast-off/

Some personal favourites:

xkcd, Doghouse, Questionable Content, Dinosaur comics, Blank it (though they haven't posted for a while), Studio Sketchy (that stopped ages ago) and multiplex.

I know, most of them aren't video game related, but they're really good!

The first strip DOES begin with Death bringing an aborted fetus to hell......

I think an edit may be in order.

I know it's hardly updated, but I still love VG Cats. It's just so funny, if very dark at times.

The only webcomic that I have ever really enjoyed is Megatokyo. I love it, especially the Endgames skits. I don't actively look for webcomics so that could be another reason I don't have any other favorites, it's just that the few I have found haven't been appealing enough to keep me around.

<a href=http://sacredpie.com/sacred1.html>Sacred Pie and <a href=http://www.misfile.com/index.php?page=2>Misfile are pretty good. So is <a href=http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=1>Questionable Content.

If you are 18 or older, Oglaf is actually pretty damn funny. I won't put up a link, because it is technically considered porn, albeit very humorous.
"This comic started out as an attempt to make pornography. It degraded into sex comedy almost immediately." (something to that effect). That comic is great.

I don't read too many of them and when I look for more, it's always like this, you get bombarded with too many to even try. The "video game" ones I regularly read include the two on this site (Which I heartily enjoy), Penny Arcade (Mostly for the blog posts), The Trenches (Because it's associated with PA), VG Cats (Other people who mentioned this remind me of how much I miss this, why doesn't he update?), Super Effective (Because of VG Cats but this one's great on it's own), Awkward Zombie (Although I only ever read the ones that are posted on Dorkly since I forget to check her site, anyone know if she has a Twitter I could follow for updates?), and other random strips I see on Dorkly and Kotaku.

I'd say my favorites out of those are Critical Miss, Name Game, Super Effective, and Awkward Zombie.

The only ones I read are XKCD (which is technology based as opposed to game based), Critical Miss and Name Game. Not much help here.
Gonna be a dick here so watch out.

It's xkcd [http://xkcd.com/about/].

OT: I follow all the comics on here, but off the 'scapist I read xkcd, Questionable Content, Penny Arcade, The Trenches, Things My Cat Hates, Sock Puppet Army and Red Meat. Sadly only 2 of those are really video game related, but whatever.

VG cats isn't bad, unfortunately it takes them ages to update so that fact totally kills them if I compare them to others. The side comic It's super effective is usually funnier anyway, although suffers from the same problem.

CTRLALTDEL and looking for group makes good stories, drawback being they progress VERY slowly per update, especially in LFG's case. I used to read LFG every weekend but got annoyed by how little happened since the last time I've checked. If you can somehow ignore them for like 2 months or longer and then read all the stuff you missed in one shot it's good reading.

Nerfnow is good for cheap laughs 1-shot jokes with fanservice on the side, plus the fact it updates often wins it for me. Other may make better stories but I'm usually happier after reading a new NN update then a CAD/LFG one.

Critical miss and name game are also good funny reads and another reason why I love coming here. :)

I like the Jay Naylor comics, Better Days and Original Life, as well as Jack on pholph.com. They really go in-depth with the stories and they're captivating.
