Gamecube/360 are most comfortable, but make the Megadrive controller a bit heavier and it's worth a shout. Notice a lack of Dreamcast controller fans on here xD

Clearly the ps3 controller.
Why? You ask.
It feels great in my hand.
It's wireless.
It has built in battery (so you don't have to change all the time, like like on the XBOX)
And it has a good quality unlike no other.

Say what you want i still think it's great.

My favorite controller is by far the n64 design. It's perfect for gaming with it's pistol grip and digital pad. I suppose you could argue the xbox 360 one builds on this but I like having the pistol grip over awkward control sticks.

Playstation controllers. That, or maybe the SNES and Genesis ones. They just feel comfortable, and aren't some overly bulky thing like some consoles have.

I really like the old gamecube controller, everyone got the black one but i got the badass purple one, the rightfull colour.
So I'm not the only one with a purple controller! It is the rightful colour.

The 360 controller, best controller I have ever used, it just feels amazing. I actually find it impossible to play a ps3 controller these days because of it.

Runners up, Snes Controller, Sega Genesis Controller(very satisfying buttons), Gamecube Controller.

I original Xbox control. It was built for REAL MEN
When the S controllers came out, my dad had trouble with them for being too small. Ofcourse my small hands benefited, so sucks for him. Only aided me in doing better than him.

360 just fits in hand perfectly and have little trouble pushing each of the buttons (tempermental d-pad)

Only gripe is problems with the sticks becoming loose if the controls been used a bunch

Orange. That was my controller. Though I always get one controller different for me. (Clear green for xbox, red for N64)

Ever since I first got my hands on a Dual Shock (bought with Gran Turismo on the PS1), I have never held another controller that comes close. Two generations of PlayStation later, and the basic controller layout has not changed in the slightest.

Sure, the L2/R2 buttons are big and soft now, theres the "PS" button in the middle, and maybe SixAxis is a bit rubbish, but in terms of pure comfort and good ergonomic design the DualShock series of controllers, well they just fit.

They are the gaming equivalent of a pair of silk RAF pilots' gloves compared to the Xbox's tough, but big and chunky skiing gloves, or the Wii's clumsy, shit-for-anything-requiring-precision boxing gloves.

I also find that I can play the same game on a PS3 and an Xbox360, and will always do better at the PS3 version - I put this firmly down to my comfort with the controller.

The gamecube controller, anyone who plays/played melee will understand and agree.
Even LoZ worked awesomely on it.
Other than that 360 controller >>>> PS3 controller, I hate those silly triggers.
SNES is also an old favourite, but that's just nostalgia.
Finally, keyboard / mouse, there's nothing else for proper FPS's or RTS's, or MMORPGs.

I prefer the PS3 controller for one reason, its wireless but you can charge it up. The xbox 360 may fit better and be a little more intuitive, but its batteries only, which sucks monkey fuck

Ps2, Gamecube or...I dunno

Worst was the original xbox one though, you needed spade hands to use it, my hands are tiny :(

Mouse + Keyboard is the most accurate controller for nearly every genre of game.

I like the ps2 controller except for the shoulder buttons which is where the gamecube controller is better except for the XYZ feel a bit sticky and hard to push

the gamecube controller.

why?
because it is perfect.
it fits and everything you need is on it and easy to reach.

there is also a thing you don't need on it, the D-pad.
so it is perfect WITH extra room to fill in with crap as the D-pad.
