I have nothing against either genre and I listen to both on a regular basis. Not 80's hair-band metal and not the conventional style of blues, however. The Stonker said:Ah same here.Bruin said:I accept it.The Stonker said:Hmmm I'm still thinking if that was supposed to be a compliment to my pallet in music or an insult!Bruin said:I'm not being a wetblanket, I'm trying to figure out if peoples' taste in music has declined so much that they're willing to accept touchy-feely guitar solos complemented by some squawking teenager, all preceded by a cheesy violin and piano intro as good music. The Stonker said:Bruin said:So tired of music threads.
Why doesn't everybody just say "Stairway to Heaven" and get it over with?
That seems to the popular consensus for good music, never-mind the 300 years of musical tradition preceding it.
And Bolero.
Don't be a wetblanket.
Here's another favorite of mine:

In today's day and age, we can call that good music.
But I don't think you can call the majority of music made in the last half century or so truly beautiful. Especially when there's far more complex, complicated, and musically sound pieces out there. As somebody who is fascinated with people like Mozart, it almost frightens me that people compare manufactured garbage to his music.
But really everyone has their taste in music and we just have to accept thatEven if it's a steaming pile of shit.
That doesn't mean I respect it.
But now to my wonderful question, because of pure curiosity!
Was your previous comment an insult to my music pallet of metal and blues?
But whether it's an insult or praise is something you'll have to decide on your own. No matter what I say you're going to assume the worst anyway.
