Recently, a friend of mine asked me to read a book called Clockwork Orange. I had never heard of the book before although I asked around and apparently the movie is more recognised but that's besides the point.
As i started reading i was dumb-struck at the amount of made-up slang the author used called "nadsat". This is a powerful literacy device designed to distance the reader from Alex, the narrator, to make it seem like the things he did (have a threesome with two drunk 10 year olds etc) seem less horrible.
Some examples of "nadsat" are 'malchick' which means a guy, derived from 'male chick'. 'Droog' is Russian for friend but he uses it anyway as slang.
So the question i ask you all is this, have you made up your own personal slang, what are they and how did you think them up?
