Well that does sound kind of true, a vast majority of Wild Rose votes were from the south of the province after all, even though your city voted PC, in fact Medicine Hat was the only one of the five major Urban centres where the Wild Rose won a majority, which is probably why they only made it to 2nd place. ha ha, Meanwhile all the Pinkos in the province are concentrated in Edmonton as always.Wakikifudge said:snip.
Well I think it only looks dull due to the usually cloudy weather conditions, so if you really look for something interesting to do you can usually find a lot of things fun, maybe it's because I'm still young at heart, but if I'm out on the town I can always find something fun to do, like finding a place that sells interesting novelty beverages for instance.OblivionSoul said:This is very true. And really, when you bring up those examples, I'll take the dullness.
Alright, thanks for the input. Honestly though, I'd much rather stick around in BC where everyone is too high to commit any crimes other than shoplifting from a 7/11 when they get their munchies, instead of a town where murder is some-what common =)OblivionSoul said:That bad? Really really not. There's some areas that aren't as nice, that's for sure, but I wouldn't say it's the worst. It's a very normal city. Last year.... yeah, it was bad, an average of almost a murder a week. Part of the problems we have is that it kind of ends up being party central for temporary guys from up north working in the oilfields. But really, it is a nice city. The river valley is particularly niceThe Scotsman72 said:Ugh, I've heard about Edmonton and it's crime. They need cops over there bad, and I'm hoping I don't get shipped off there after I'm done studying criminoligy and finish my RCMP training. Talked to a family friend who's an officer and he said they couldn't drag him there if they posted him there. Is it really that bad?
Captcha: Big Brother. How ominous.
This, basically.Varrdy said:England
Where to start?!? Xenophobia would be a good start; I'm not suggesting that every Englishman dislikes non-English people but there is still a sense of collective superiority floating around like a bad smell. That and we invented the phrase: "Johnny Foreigner"!
All Yorksire / Derbyshire people drink gravy, have whippets, wear flat-caps and work down t'pit; Southerners are all poncey and wouldn't know which end of a ferret to hold; Scousers are all thieves; Mancunians are all violent; Geordies are all rock-hard...I could go on.
All the above would be considered offensive in some countries but, most of the time, we see it as a bit of harmless fun and friendly rivalry....
Most of the time...
I could say something about Scottish people but I'm not brave enough to be anything other than complimentary!

John Hinckley Jr., would be assassin of Ronald Reagan? Colorado. Wade Michael Page who recently killed 6 people in a Wisconsin Sikh temple was originally from Colorado. I think the guy that opened fire on the White House when Clinton was president was also from Colorado.
What is wrong with us?
Pretty much what he said.bomber567 said:Chicago. Wherever I go, especially outside of the US, people seem to think we're stuck in the 1920s, as in Al Capone-type gang violence. To be clear, Chicago is no longer the most dangerous city in the US, or even one of the top 50 most dangerous cities.
Whooooooooooaaaaaaaaaa. I'm not sure if I'm impressed or mega-impressed.Surpheal said:I'm from Michigan, but that is not why I'm here.
No, that is because of the stereotype of Detroit. You see people think that if you go to Detroit you will get shot/stabbed/robbed/assualted in some way. Well to all of you let me say this, this past summer there were 2 days that passed without an assault.
So suck it, that is 48 whole hours of assault-less bliss baby.
Never been there, so I can't really say. But if it's heavily influenced by San Francisco culture then I probably wouldn't like it.Elect G-Max said:How do you feel about San Jose?CMDDarkblade said:What most people don't know is that Southern California and Northern California secretly hate each other. I'm from Orange County and I wouldn't mind if San Francisco burnt to the ground. God, I hate that city so much.
Well, my family brews Tequila, and I'm pretty much the only person I know that doesn't, so as far as I know that one is true, and cockfighting, well I've never seen it but I did have a chicken that was pretty aggressive and fought dogs, so I guess I've done it.Elect G-Max said:Don't forget that everybody in Mexico drinks tequila and eats tortilla chips, and the national sport is cockfighting...Kaleion said:México here, can't really say any state in particular since I've moved too many times and haven't staid in any particular state enough to call it home or get to know people, specially since I don't really talk to people a lot.
But anyway the general stereotype of México is that it's a really big desert with a bunch of really small towns with unpaved roads, also apparently we all still dress like we did in 1910, with sombreros and boots, in fact I think people think it's the wild west, which is odd because as I said I've seen most of México and for the most part it's really green, though here up North there is a lot of desert.
