What is your subconcious mind like?

I always wondered what defines the subconcious mind. They said that your dreams define it, but my dreams tend to be so realistic, (although sometimes i am a mongoose?) or are just a jumble of disjointed images, so i don't really put my trust in dreams. I personally think that my subconcious is too similar to my concious mind to make any real difference, except for the mongooose part. What defines yours?

Isn't your subconsious who you really are? including stuff you don't (want to) know about yourself?

that's the best I can do right now, it's 11.16 here, waaaay too early for philosophy.

In that case, I'm a mongoose version of me. Just dress a regular sized mongoose in a shrunk down version of my clothes, and that's what i'm supposed to really be then. And where do you live? The Marshall Islands?

maybe I should've said that differently. like, your subconscious is what you think about without knowing it. apart from bits of it that sometimes pop up. Don't know about the mongoose thing. ever been traumatised by one? played too much halo 3? any weird mongoose feti.... never mind, don't wanna know.

to answer your other question: the netherlands. whoop-dee-fuckin-doo

Nah, they just live everywhere near me. They get rid of rats and are really helpful. I live in Hawaii, just thought you were one timezone behind me.

My subconscious seems to have deep roots in pop culture 1993 and after. Particularly Jurassic Park, because I have a recurring dream that keeps changing slightly each time, for example one time I have to escape from raptors, another time I bargain with them by giving them superpowers with, I kid you not, THE POWER OF FAN-FICTION, and the last time I had that dream I saw the skeleton of a Velociraptor at the Queensland Museum which I haven't visited since I was a kid, the place in residence I had when Jurassic Park was released.

The message seems to be that the "raptors" represent childish fears that I have had to put aside when turning 20 this week.

My subconscious is weird, I mean, why don't I have dreams related to anime since I watch lots of it, but Jurassic Park recurring dreams happen? Search me.

Nah, Tourists frequent the East Side. I live on the South Side. Weather is always perfect (except when there's vog). There's basically no ground animals here in Hawaii beside geckos and mongooses. (think giant weasels)

Wouldn't it be hard to define your subconcious mind being that you don't have direct access to it because, yknow, its subconcious?

You can have a little glimpse from it through dreams, but that's about it. That's why i'm asking people how well they can define it.

In that case..

I've been dreaming about being myself lately, about doing things I want to do, so maybe I'm feeling a little repressed and wish I could be more comfortable at being myself at the minute.

Better than having to relive your entire work day as a two foot tall mongoose. (Goddamit! I can't reach the counter!)

If anything, I would prefer to dream about that because then at least I wouldn't be freaking out over how repressed/schizophrenic I am. Also I'd be a freaking mongoose, that would be too damn cool.

Ok, you've hooked me. when's the next flight?
advertising with perfect weather is probably the single best way to hook us northern europeans, our weather is absolutely crap. it's been freezing for a week here. although I guess I have no right of complaining, Britain's got snowstorms right now:p

Never goes below 70 fahreneheit, never goes above 100. The problem is that the bugs never die.

I used to have a reoccurring dream where I just chilled out with the raptors. Good blokes really. The last time I had it they got a bit lairy and I had to pull their tails off. Never had it again. Shame as I quite miss them now.

OT. I suspect my subconscious consists of two paths. One is a dark, narrow path over burning coals (no doubt lined with Arsenal memorabilia) which leads to the work I should be doing. The other is a perfectly jolly stroll through a gumdrop forest accompanied by Optimus Prime which takes me to the fun things I end up doing.
