After reading a thread concerning the banning of *ahem* 'undesirable' users on The Escapist I had a realization. What keeps me coming back to The Escapist is the community. The shows are good but they are few and far apart, but the threads are what keep me checkin' in every day. I believe this is thanks to the moderators holding the community to such high standards, and for this I thank you mods.

This brings me to my question for you, dear Escapist. What keeps you coming back to this site?

I found the Escapist when I stumbled upon "Study Finds Girl Gamers are Seriously Hardcore."

I liked that articles title, and joined.

The only thing that keeps me coming back is pure boredom. If I'm surfing the internet, this is one of the places I visit to keep myself slightly entertained.

I like some of the articles, though. And i enjoy some of the video series. I learned about Loading Ready Run through Unskippable, so good job, Escapist.

Everything: it's the best gaming site around, with a great community, fun articles, and incredibly well-done videos.

Most of all though, it's definitely the community: everyone's always nice and well-articulated for fear of having their face smashed in by the mighty ban hammer. Fear can have such a wonderful effect.

I agreed with everything you just said. Fear always makes things better.

Exactly! What would the Escapist be without fear?

The forums and the mostly mature and educated community. Of all the forums and online communities Ive been a part of, the Escapist is easily the most enjoyable. Props to all of you guys and gals here on these forums and in this community. You guys really are a great bunch of people, and Im proud to be a part of this site.

From what I was reading in the off-topic forum, the escapist is already neck deep in trolls. I had to ask what a troll was, but I got the idea that it was bad. I guess were not neck deep?

There is always a couple but most are swiftly dealt with by the all powerful moderators. They keep everyone in check.

Same here. Usually the discussions are at the very least interesting to read.
