Honestly, man? It's awesome. I read the arguments presented and it's the arguments that are flawed. I have never had an Apple product before this, except a brief dalliance with an iPod I borrowed for a trip (which failed to impress me), so I can say this with the utmost non-bias. I won't spend anything more than $200 or so on something unless I know that I am getting what I'm paying for, so I did several months of testing and playing before I committed, and it's the best phone related decision I ever made. It works brilliantly at everything it does, and the apps you can get do the rest to make a brilliant little device. Want to tune a guitar? App for it. Convert Celsius to Fahrenheit or weight to lbs per square inch? App for it. Look at sexy Suicide Girls? App for it. Peggle? 3D God of War type game? Brain training? All there.JimmyBassatti said:How is it?Nerdfury said:iPhone 3G, 8GB.
Why? Because after a couple of months of reading technical and user reviews, play-testing with people's phones, I finally decided it would suit me quite well. It does everything I need out of a phone, plus a heap of stuff I didn't know I'd find bloody useful.
I was once one of those sad bastards that got shitty about everyone and their cool phones by saying "If I need a camera, I'll use a camera! And if I need music, I've got my mp3 player! And if I want to play games, I've got a PSP/DS!" but then I realised I couldn't be arsed carrying around all this crap in my bag, so I slimmed down to the Nokia N95, which was a great little beast.
In the end, the iPhone was a natural choice. In retrospect, though, the camera could have been vastly improved.
If I get a new phone, I was thinking of getting an iPhone.
OT: I have a Propel. The screen is scratched to hell and back, but it's still good.
About 12 or so! But seriously, man, don't listen to (or read?) the into the hate to make your decision. The iPhone is no more flawed than any other phone on the market, and those 'flaws' are generally limited to a low megapixel camera and that some apps (as a result of bad developer code, nothing to do with Apple, but the creators of the apps) are crap on the phone. I've yet to see any system, operating system or technical flaws, and some friends have had theirs since day one and had no issues whatsoever.JimmyBassatti said:You made some good points...but...is there lots of sexy girls?Nerdfury said:Honestly, man? Personally, I would go the 3GS if you can afford it, but if not, the 3G is cheaper now and still brilliant. Also, I'm replying becuase you quoted me, which sends an email to my inbox - personally, I'd believe me over someone that trolls through iPhone posts waiting to spout hatred on the device.
Give it a go, man. Find a friend with one and have a play around with their iPhone.
