What languages do you speak?

Just had a random, curious thought about it...likely because I just glanced at my old Latin textbook :p

What languages does everyone here speak? Other than English of course, as I am sure that is a given for most everyone here. Though you can state it if it isn't your first language.

I learned Spanish in high school, because it was all that was offered and we needed foreign language credits. After that, I got into classical Latin, and am working slowly on Italian. I plan to learn at least Arabic and possibly Navajo. I guess I could also go towards any romance language with a good background in Latin (with some Greek as well) but I think Italian will be it for starters, followed just by Arabic and Navajo.

And that's just starters...I have a thing for learning languages, I am not the best at it or anything but its a big interest of mine.

English, because I'm English. I know, exciting.
Also very, very limited French. Did it at GCSE level and can now remember two, maybe three useful sentences. Might come back to me if someone talks to me in French, but hopefully I'll never find out.

EDIT:
Just noticed we were told not to say English, but I'm leavin' it. I'm man enough to not hide my mistakes.

I was learning French in school, but I hated it so much I just stopped once I didn't HAVE to take it anymore...now I'm going to Cuba so I figured, I'll learn some Spanish. Then I got bored so I figured I'll just use an iPhone app or something...so, I only speak English.

I'm trying to learn Spanish, but I am very lazy and only listen to the tapes every couple of days. I don't even know why I'm trying to learn it, it's just kinda pretty and I have way too much spare time.

So, I speak no additional languages at present... :(

I can speak English, Dutch (my first language), German and I can make myself understood in French. Oh, and a teensy bit of Japanese. I can read those (except Japanese) and a bit of Latin, ancient Greek and Italian (and Sindarin and Quenya, being a good nerd). I love studying language.

Swedish and English, the latter more or less fluently. I can make myself understood in german, although I have a very basic vocabulary and grammar.

I'm fluent in English and French (they're both sort of mother tongues, but I have more English experience) and speak some German. I'm also fluent in some constructed languages I invented, but I'm the only person who understands them.

i took german in high school for three years but im not very good at it mostly due to the fact that my school had to hire a new german teacher every year for the three years i was in it so it was hard to learn consistently with three different teaching styles :/

I tried to learn French in high school, but my awesome teacher quit and replaced by a terrible teacher, so I didn't learn much there. Then I took Spanish, learned a lot the first year, but I had more awful teachers the two following years, thanks to them I barely learned anything and forgot most of what i already knew.

I hated my high school.

...

Does Pig Latin count? :p

German. I have issues with pronunciation, so the language has to have very specific rules for it. Hence why this Canadian cannot pronounce French.

Je parle un petit peu de français.

I don't even know if that's correct any more though, as I haven't had French class in over a year, and am very rusty.

- Dutch (just because I was born and still live in The Netherlands)

- English (suprise!)

- German (had to learn it at school for many years and Germany is our neighboring country)

- French (just a little bit, also because of school)

Language is something I'm pretty terrible at, was in australia over the summer met loads of people from europe who could speak 2 or 3 languages fluently. They almost made me feel ashamed of the fact I'm Irish and cant even speak it, let alone understand it.

I'd be slightly better at it than your average tourist and thats about it.

Whats kinda sad though is I used to love it when I was a child, parent teacher meetings in primary school my teachers would always make remarks on how good I was at it. Then secondary school came around, uninspiring teachers coupled with my own laziness made me sorta forget about it :'(
