What makes a game good?

When you are playing a game for the first time, how do you decide if it is good or not?
Is it the graphics? Do you just want it to look perfect?
Is it the story? Do you want a game where you can get lost in the story?
Is it the multiplayer? Are you one of the people that love multiplayer and can't enjoy a game on your own?
Or is it a mixture of these and more?

So vague and so open to taste and interpretation.

Example:

Two Worlds is Garbage. Yet, I like it because I view it as parody, the PC version isn't quite the trash the 360 version is and my PC is a beast so it actually make the setting look pretty. The armor you get does look cool and the dialogue is SO bad it's hysterical.

So there is an example of a majority believe terrible title that I somehow enjoy and think is good in a sick and twisted way.

Documentation and marketing makes a good game. After sale support and regular balance patches makes a game awesome.

But back on track, I think a good game needs good storyline, well made graphics, and innovation. Unfortunately, the last died back in, what, 2003?

Before this thread is apparently locked for being redundant, I'll give you the straight answer:

Games are good if they are fun.
Fun is subjective (meaning it differs from person to person).
Therefore, there is no universal answer to what makes a game good.

If you're sitting there scratching your head wondering if the game you're playing is good, chances are the answer is, "the game you are playing is apparently not quite terrible enough to be obviously bad but not quite good enough to be genuinely fun either."

In my personal opinion I think that a game should have a good story and that the controls flow well, graphics are more of an extra in my opinion that I can ignore if the game is good enough.
