So I'm new to all this blogging business, some of you out there evidently aren't.

So, willing to learn (and perhaps get my hands on one of those elusive badges) I would love to hear what people think makes a really great thread.

Somthing that hasnt been done before and provides a genuinely interesting topic to discuss.
You can do them on anything, gaming or social issues.

(The following isn't meant to imply anything about this thread.) Using the search function. Partly to make sure it's not a topic that's been done to death, but mostly to prevent it being filled up with obnoxious jerks whose only contribution is "Use the search function!"

Also, a topic that everyone knows a little bit about and has an opinion on. Preferably a new take on that topic. But not about an argument that has two clearly defined opposing sides, with no chance of anyone changing their mind.

Something that requires some creativity and thought from the commenters.

It's not all up to the OP, either. A thread can only be as good as the replies it gets.

I like to try to come up with topics that no one else has done before... like for instance most people say 'best female character in games' so I went 'worst female character in games'. I like to think I make interesting threads as I've also been told I do.

A thread should be a thing of love, don't spend time thinking "Oh, what can I write a thread about? I want them badges so bad!", you should wait until the idea organicaly comes to you.

Also, not doing a vs or zombie thread is also a good start.

Your best bet is to discuss religion, politics, lolcats, the holacaust, your hatred of other races/genders and which is better mac or pc.

Any of those topics is a guaranteed winner! heh ;)

Oh and any mention of DDKR will get you $100 in "DDKR FUN BUX" to spend as you see fit.
